the cryengine does support it but its a major performance killer.
Total Air war and Grand prix 4. 2 games i know from 2000-2002 had this same problem with thier game engines when they were released.
The cure was to limit the fps in the missile tv screen to just 2-4 fps and run the smaller screen at a reduced resolution and detail. (pixellated) with a lod reduction (50-100m) mirror views inallot of car games rely on this too.
the missile video feed is different from the zoom module because you can reduce game detail aswell as picture smoothness to maintain a playable fps.
the advanced zoom module you mention needs to have a lossless effect on fps, detail and picture quality to be effective something a missile screen isnt required to have.
