Does the actual item Healthpoints affect the amount of health you have internally. Eg; one DHS placed on side torso will add 10+ Healthpoints to side torso ?
Or are those HP values for the items exclusive health for them getting critted; so how easily the individual item can be destroyed ?

No, it doesn't, the HP value refers to the health of the item, eg. how much damage it can take before it is destroyed.
