We're heavy on the lore side, but we aren't fanatical roleplayers. We have a lot of current and former military members who have been playing for quite awhile. Our roots go back to MWLL, and MWLL's roots went back as far as MW4. We aren't the same Clan from back then, but it's very possible some of what makes us who we are today may have had its roots from your former Clan.
Come drop by our teamspeak sometime @ clanwolf.ts.nfoservers.com You're more than welcome to drop with us, no strings attached. If you like us and feel like joining, we'll help you through the application process. If not, you're still welcome to drop with us as a guest for as long as you'd like.

I remember only something about WoT.. Anyway, we have an in-game unit too (Clan Wolf International). Applicants are invited when they become cadets.

I played in NBT Clan Wolf with =WC= tag in 2003-2004, my nickname was MadDog. I met many old friends here but most of them don't play MWO now.
I was in that same group! It's been ages though.

Have you ever been interested in earning a Bloodname? To prove yourself above your peers in combat, or to make your mark in Clan history? Clan Wolf International ensures each warrior is given the opportunity to fight for a Bloodname, and keeps official records so you will always have it.
Believe it or not, most Clans in the MechWarrior franchise will honor past earned Bloodnames when you present proof. We offer that proof so future Clans in future games will know you rightfully earned what is yours.
Sign-ups are eligible for any full member with > 6 months time in the Clan, but those with less than that are not out of luck, as any full member of the Clan with < 6 months time may win their spot in the Trial of Bloodright by participating in a Grand Melee (a spectacular event!)
Join this week and you have enough time to pass your trial and be eligible to enter the Grand Melee for a shot at winning a Bloodname!

I'm a pretty casual player (active military/serious personal commitments) so I can be on for 5 days at a time and then disappear for a few weeks, come back for a while, then disappear again.
Played MWO for a year and half now, I run two mastered Cataphracts (CTF-1X, CTF-4X) and a half-elite CTF-3D along with my primary three mastered Timber Wolves. I also have a TDR-5S and AS7-S in basic.
I usually drop in TBR with brawler builds and close-in support, but do have at least one medium to long range build.
I don't know much about Battletech lore, but chose Clan Wolf because I believe that Clan Wolf in fiction represents a lot of my life ideas (I support the Warden cause as protectors of Humanity and Inner Sphere against one tyrannical rule).
I am definitely willing to take the time to listen and learn about the lore and canon if others are willing to share.

Greetings Thunderbuns! I'm currently active duty military as well going on my 9th year of service in the Navy.
If you're looking for a good group of guys to drop with, definitely check us out. We've got different units for both active and casual players, so we can work with your time constraints. I've been with them for almost 4 years, and have been on 2 deployments and multiple workups. Never had an issue being away for extended periods.
As for the lore, it's up to you. We've got some hardcore roleplayers, and some folks that know next to nothing, but most are somewhere in-between. We'll conduct various trials and events inspired by lore, but knowing lore is definitely not a requirement. You can learn as much about it (or little) as you like.
