If you have the option game on a wired connection. If that's not viable, then do everything you can to minimize external interference. The issue you describe sounds to me that you are most likely correct in thinking the equipment is not to blame. Any forms of RF or EM signal noise in the area can temporarily disrupt your link. These can be things you can do nothing about such as the wiring inside your walls or the neighbors microwave, or thing you can effect such as placement of your own electronics and use of multiple radios in the area (i.e.: cell phones, wireless mice/keyboards, RC cars and the like).
I am not an IT or a technology expert, but I have nearly 40 years of being a tech junkie and a learn and repair on my own kind of guy. Hope this helps

You think a baby monitor might be an issue?

TCP 45461
TCP 45464
UDP 21000 to 30000
ip for game server is 70.42.29.75 (70.42.29.74 in system.cfg - its logon server)
p.s. UDP 21000 - 30000 are outgoing ports from 70.42.29.75 (incoming for your ip)

Possible, although not likely. All electronics sold in the US have in their info an FCC statement. They are designed to operate with minimal noise and interference. That does not mean they work right or were not cheaply made crap. Something like a baby monitor is just a basic 2-way audio radio, and operates at a pretty low RF band. That should not interfere with a WiFi link unless its faulty. Thing more like the wireless mice/Kbrds, or extended range cordless phones are much closer to the operating frequencies of the router and more likely to be considered.

my apartment block have like 10 over router blasting wifi-N and AC till the point my old wifi G is dying
thus i never went back to wifi since i ran ethernet wires around my house
305 meters for a whole roll of ethernet wires is around 99 bucks and the LAN RJ45 jacks can be bought in bulk and you just need the tool to join the wire to the LAN jack

I have a crimper back in my old networking days (before wireless) so it looks like its wires all around and drilling holes in the wall, excuse to use the new drill I got for Christmas.

This is how the problem manifests itself:
This affects both Vista and 7 (haven't played with Windows 8's wireless enough yet to see if it's there), so if you suspect this might be your issue, you can download WLAN Optimizer
http://www.martin-ma.../wlanoptimizer/
It's just a small program that disables the automatic scan of networks in the WLAN Autoconfig service. I used to use it for W7 all the time before I went wired for gaming.

Hey, it may be a pain in the rear to do, but afterward you'll be thankful you did. This is always going to be the best route.
