I think MechWarrior: Tactics and MechWarrior: Online should exercise the opportunity to cross promote. Some examples are:

MWT Style Bobble Heads.
MWT/MWO Maps - maps that are in both games (I drool at the idea of this, playing River City in MWT to plan ideas for MWO).
MWT Style Skins (and maybe down the road, appearance customizations?)
Link MWT & MWO to get cross game rewards. Buy a weapon pack in MWT and get a surprise large laser for MWO, or get 5 large lasers for MWT as bonus for controlling a planet in MWO. Just a little kick off bonus for MW fans and something to look forward to when switching games.
Use your MWO pilot in MWT. Get bonuses related to the MWO pilot tree. Have bonuses for piloting mechs you've mastered.

Just some thoughts. I am sure there are even more great ideas so please share them. Well that's my 2 cents!

I don't want any of the horrible MW:T art work in MW:O. No, thank you.

I think it's beautiful for a tactical game...

I really like the shared map idea.
Everything else is meh.

I think it would be fun to have special MWT style mech as a hero mech or promotion of some kind.

It's a good idea.

edit: erased my first comment since it was breaking MW:T NDA

I remember SimCity 4 had a feature where a sim(from the sims) could move in to your city, this would be like that but I would actually GAF.

IIRC there may be an issue with using each game's art assets in the other game, even if both dev studios are using the same publisher (IGP). Neither PGI (MWO) nor Roadhouse Interactive (MWT) have the rights from Topps to use the "canon" sourcebook art, and have to create their own art for use exclusively with their own respective games. Likewise, nobody else can use their art but them. This means you're not going to see any TT sourcebooks (or possibly any books period) using MWO or MWT art, but I think that also means that PGI can't use Roadhouse's art and vice versa as well.

However, that's not to say that any cross-promotion whatsoever is ruled out. Since both developers are using the same publisher, they could probably do something like if you buy something for one game, you get something for the other game too. Like if you buy a Founder's pack for MWT, you could get a month of MWO Premium time or something like that.

No thank you, I believe with enough interest the right hands will be shook to allow these cross promotions to manifest.

AFAIK they do a simple conversion of TT with only difference being that 1 armor is 10 armos in MW:T and 1 damage is 10 damage in MW:T so they could have easier time differentiating weapons.

Exactly this. The scale comparison between MWT and TT Btech is exactly the same. Both damage AND armor have been multiplied by 10. This enables them to add more granularity, like say, add anywhere between 1 and 19 damage to a small laser and it will still never be the same as a medium laser with only half the weight.

Unlike MWO, where all the scales are completely incongruent to each other and armor is on one scale, damage is another, and recycle times don't correlate to anything similar to what TT would seem to suggest in terms of DPS.

I'll settle for them ALSO implementing a founders' time button like we have in MW:O.

The further this game distances itself from that cartoonish joke of a game, the better.

Note: The game is not horrible. Their chosen art direction makes me... sad. Very, very sad.
