So I recently purchased a BAP, since it's supposed to increase sensor range... I haven't tested it in multiplayer yet, but I used it in the testing grounds and realized that it did nothing to extend my max sensor range (I can target mechs at 800m with or without my BAP, but no farther). Do I need to somehow activate my BAP like an ECM? Or do the testing grounds run on different rules then multiplayer?? I'm hoping I'm just being an ***** and doing something wrong, cause I was definitely excited for expanded sensor range

The standard radar range is 800m.
BAP extend it by 25% to 1000m.
Throw in the advance sensor range module together with the BAP you get another 25%, to 1200m (800m +50%).
You usually don't need that much radar range.

BAP is always on.

Thanks for the reply! I'd read that info online (the 25% extension bit), but when I tried my Jenner w/BAP in the testing grounds I only could target to 800 m... that's why I'm wondering if this is a bug, or if I'm doing something wrong. Since BAP is always on, I guess it just must be the former.

I never really tested BAP in the testing ground, but enemy in match do shows up at the extended range.
training ground does known to be a bit wonky.

A lot of features do not really work well in Training Grounds so the rigors of true battles is the best way to test things. Also remember that BAP help mechs with SSRMs lock onto mechs being covered with ECM. Only one mech at a time so I assume that it is the mech that you happen to be targeting.

Cheers!

BAP works fine but most items or skills that give bonuses do not work in the Testing Grounds. The Testing Grounds is ok for learning how to drive a mech but is not suitable for dedicated testing since some features (such as BAP extending targetting range, and all pilot lab skills) do not apply to the offline-only testing grounds mode.
