Once the franchise is re-esteblished in the gameing world I see a good possibilty for a single-player Mechwarrior game (probably for PC and all consoles). But for this to happen everything right now has to be poured into MW:O to make it a (financial) success.

mechwarrior has always been about the single player campain for me. i love the rich background and storylines it alows.

sadly single player isnt part of this game, that the bad side to "this isnt your fathers mechwarrior."

The only thing that would have been better for me in the past would have been multi player co-op. all the good bits of a mechwarrior mission played with friends. Each mission could unlocks another so we have a campain.

multi player co-op looks like it could be within the scope of this game so i guess thats what im going to hope/ask for
Nothing has really been said, to the best of my memory, that absolutely every game played is going to be PvP. I cannot fathom, for the life of me, why there couldn't also be a multiplayer co-op PvE campaign setting, indeed several campaigns. I think single-player has gone the way of the dodo, but why couldn't a group of friends get together, especially if they aren't keen on PvP, like my friends and I for the most part, and play through a PvE campaign together.

And this is why i love EVE. Carebears aren't safe anywhere.

If i could drop on said group of friends and ruin their day i'd **** rainbows.

I think, as far as PvE is concerned, the most we can hope for at this stage are bots given very basic AI algorithms based on what kind of Mech they are in and what duties they are expected to perform on the battlefield. Given the "information warfare" approach the devs are taking, I have a few ideas for the kinds of bots that would work well:

* Scout bots who run around finding enemies, then escaping to broadcast that data to friendly units.

* Lookout bots who get themselves up on high-ground to overlook the battlefield and get better radar vantages to broadcast to friendlies.

* Assault bots who stick together and charge into any area that's been identified as hostile.

* Guard bots who defend a particular friendly objective, and if any hostiles get within firing range they attack.

TBH though, so long as there's a practice mode that doesn't require multiple players to participate, so that I can test mech configurations before unleashing them into the field of battle against live opponents, that would be good enough for me. :)
