did they change it cause all the sudden my gauss ammo is exploding and causing me to die.
I'm positive they are not blowing up my guass rifle. i keep getting ammo explosions from ammo, and I'm sure i only have Gauss ammo.
did they change it?

A hit on the Gauss it listed as ammo explosion, as far as i remember.
But i would prefer a real combat log for the game, instead of these stupid 5 rows of info at death.

i think its the gauss exploding and being listed incorrectly, not its ammo. gauss ammo is nothing more than metal slugs being propelled by a magnetic accelerator.
in theory there is nothing about a slug that is in its self explosive, but the gun would be.
if you want to test it put your ammo in your legs, and next time your arm/torso blows and you die see if it still lists ammo explosion as a damage source.
i don't know why your ammo isn't Already in your legs, but its pretty rare to lose one unless your a light where people aim for legs.

I've seen this as well; I believe the Gauss ammo IS occasionally exploding at random. Submit a support ticket and check the known issues feedback forums; it's a bug.

Guass ammo can be destroyed, but does no damage to your Mech - what you're seeing is the explosion from the actual Gauss Rifle being destroyed. MWO handles it exactly the same way it would handle an ammo explosion (which is why it's listed as "Ammo explosion" in your cause of death screen even though it's not technically the ammo the blew up).
This is why it's somewhat unwise to place a Gauss Rifle in your side torso. This is also why it's fairly wise to cram as many other items into the part of your mech that the Guass rifle is in - those other items lessen the % chance that your Gauss Rifle will take the damage when you receive a critical hit.

The Rifle goes boom. Counts as ammo explosion.
The ammo does not.
