That's about as constructive as it gets. It's pretty bad, awful even.

You really just need three sections.

Dev: News/Articles/Tracker

Player: General Discussion/Mechs/Guides

Other: Off Topic/Support/etc

I mean you can divide even more from there. New Player Help could be a sticky on the General Discussion board like it is on every other major gaming site. Your Command Chair and Announcements should be merged together. You can't even talk about Loadouts without talking about a single Mech variant at the same time (just take a single minute and think about that).

Long story short, you can do better.

This would be amazing.

Yeah, after spending nearly 15 years as a mod and around 10 as an admin on a few healthy sites, the KISS principle is the most effective when it comes to dividing forums out.

In my experience, anything more than 20 is diluting things too far, with the number we have now, we'll quite literally have dozens of forums that are largely ignored and just there for the sake of being there.

Sometimes less (way, way less) is more.

EDIT: Like the OP said, three or four main sections, and breaking those down a little further would make a lot more sense.

I can understand the need for more specialised areas for feedback during a beta, but the current selection of subforums is overkill and deleting the general discussion forum is just sheer foolishness.

I have to agree here, I am finding the navigation of the forums now much more arduous than it was last week before the rearrangements.

I want General Discussion back. Not every topic we had easily fit into a slot. General Discussion gave us a place where we could talk. It is where I would check before I went anywhere. Now, I'm just finding myself checking anywhere I might find a thread supporting bringing back General Discussion. Everything else feels like no one sees you.

Agree... the forums are just way too diluted. And every other gaming forum in existence has a general discussion forum. Not sure what your trying to achieve with that move....

We are still reviewing your constructive feedback regarding forum changes, and we will be making changes in the very near future (and throughout the next week) in response to constructive community concerns.*

Please be patient while we review your suggestions; reworking the structure is a process, and we'll be revising the structure in a way that we hope will address the major issues brought to our attention by the community.

I would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone who has voiced their concerns with a positive attitude. We hope that we can all refer to this issue as an example of working with our forum community to maintain an environment that is rich with ideas and constructive dialogue.

In the meantime, please visit our dedicated thread if you would like to discuss these ongoing changes, or you can use this thread to suggest a sub-forum or for general forum suggestions.

*We understand that changes can be frustrating, and we sincerely thank you for your patience. However, spamming us with duplicate threads and insults has delayed our response, as we have had to spend our time sanctioning users and removing content that violates our Code of Conduct. Please remember this when providing your feedback in the future.
