There is no optimal build. I will say usually it involves at least 2ERPPC and 2 PPC. Other than that, there are all kinds of builds that work.

A possible starting point:
STK-3F - QuadPPCStalker
I packed the 2 MPLs because I couldn't fill it up weight-wise with just 2 Medium Lasers and 2 additional DHS. There is probably a way to tweak it for better results.

The optimum Stalker PPC Build is the Awesome....

However if you want to throw everything away that is right and nobel...go for the 3F - it has the better twist angle...or if you want to use it when LRmargedon returns go for the 5S...same armament as the 3F but 2 AMS

Whatever build you choose, make sure you have some "up close and personal" fire power for the ankle biters / brawlers. Right now, for pugs, I am running the 5LL version of the stalker cause 5LL's tend to chase the ankle biters away, and does significant damage with more manageble heat then ER PPC's.

Straight PPC's? maybe in group drops where you have buddies you can count on to keep the ankle biters off you ... but in straight pugs? your pretty much on your own. Even 2 Mediums doesn't scare off most ankle biters.

Personally, I use this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...466ed207c2f5b2.

I almost never have a problem putting 90m between me and any opposition.

Most people use between 4 and 6 PPCs on the F chassis.

Some utilize a pair of ERs for anything that gets close.

Personally, I use the 4 PPC/2MPLs or 4PPC/4 streaks(Or 4 LLs/4 Streaks...just as good on some maps), since it seems that its mostly fast swarmy mechs that bother me the most close in.

I don't think adding any weapons past the four PPCs is wise as it cuts into your DHS count. PPCs already have the disadvantage of being three slots vs. the two slots of large lasers, which makes you lose out on two DHS, and even the quad laser builds overheat a lot when fired at full pace.

3F PPC

This works. 2 ML's are mostly for picking on lights that get to close. ER for alpine peaks since you get that crappy map all the time. 20 DHS 2ERPPC/2PPC/2ML is not that big of a deal vs 21 and 2ERPPC/2PPC. I prefer the flexability of the former. Most ideal for alpha is 4 regular PPC's backed up with 2 medium lasers, it lets you alpha three times in a row.
