Okay, spent a bit of time playing around in smurfy and this is the build I came up with based on suggestions above: HGN-733C Thoughts?

You need at least two more tons of UAC5 ammo or you will be empty soon. 100 rounds go in an eye blink when you have dual UAC5.

Neh, long as you aren't firing carelessly and only shooting when you can get good shots on the target, 100rnds will generally last through a game.

I've been doing very well with this build: HGN-733C. Constant stream of fire (until they jam) means I can keep hearing the great sfx! I can keep my distance while firing from good spots, but I haven't died much with the XL engine or even with ammo explosions when I'm in brawling range.

I'm going with:
XL 325
AC/20
2x PPC
3x SSRM
4x JJ
Endo/DHS

Wow I didn't know you could do this. I am running the same setup with an XL 300 without Endo which gives me an extra heatsink. I'd rather have the bigger engine I think so thanks for the post.

I run this: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a491674ced94d79

People might scoff at the Large Pulse Lasers, but I find them useful for doing surgical damage (the shorter burn time also allows you to torso twist away from damage). The LRM20 provides from long and mid-range fire support and the AC/20 dominates at close range. Rounded out with an XL325, and you're a speedy infighter.

I tend to agree with this. I am very picky when I fire my ballistics. I am still running my Highlander fairly stock as I can't afford the upgrades yet and 21 rounds of AC/20 ammo lasts me nearly a whole round because I only fire when I am sure I am going to be effective.

I guess I'll have to wait until I can afford everything to judge whether I'm going need more than 100 rounds for the UAC's.

I run 150 + rounds of UAC5 ammo. It runs out pretty soon in the current snipe meta.

Quick update - I am running the build I posted earlier in this thread with a little extra UAC ammo instead of Artemis.

Here's some results from a drop on Caustic. This is the best I've done so far. I've had a couple of rounds up in the high 600's but this round was awesome. The other team wasn't the best I've ever played against, but they certainly weren't the worst either.

Really happy with this build. Really fun to play. Can drive poptarts back into cover from 600m out. >: )

Spoiler
