Actually its Solaris VII.
I hated that horn as well and tend to turn the sound down as low as I could.
MW 4 is a worst example of a MW game, it was barely tolerable but that was thanks to the mektek stuff.

Best MW to compare it to would be MW 3 & the first MW game.

Well mercenaries 2 defiantly had more of a deepness to the story and atmosphere, even if it was nearly all blobs of text or recordings. But still the solaris VII was fleshed best in 4, give it allot was due to it being newer and better graphics.

I did go though 3, yadada all the great missions and story of the other games were great still, lot of people like a nearly exclusive team deathmatch mode, why not make it more interesting and fitting with the game universe like Solaris VII arenas.

What if a mode similar to tf2's payload was implemented? One team has to stay close to a convoy in order for it to move, the other team just has to keep them suppressed. the convoy is indestructible so they don't have to worry about snipers and can focus just on positioning.

The problem here is well...

1) why would the convoy not keep moving? In Multiple instances in canon and previous MW games the only time they have ever done that if they were extremely fragile artillery pieces of fuel trucks who do not want a single rifle hitting them thus for every time the mechs have to intercept they stop.
That or going through a crucial path (ie bridge, tight canyons, etc) to make sure they get across safely

2) Why would a convoy have more armour than a battleship when a heavier larger mech doesn't? I mean just imagine having an atlas with 0.5 tons of invincible armour... I think it would be much more interesting if there was a mixed tank, mech, and vehicle convoy escorting the mechs.

Filled with cargo trucks and ammo loader vehicles. A few long tom artillery vehicles with quite a few tanks to escort it like a Demolisher I, mermadon, and perhaps a mech like a Panther escorting the convoy or two. The Convoy can bite back, the convoy isn't fragile. and makes sense why you want to stop the convoy.

Your idea is basically a counter attack with the 'base' moving and requiring their team to capture it while the other team does a skirmish. In MW: O this will be treated like an annoying version of skirmish instead of a convoy escort mission. Having the convoy able to bite back but also to be destroyed allows the mission to be more dynamic and removes the idea of a single jenner IIC running in and ending the game in 1 pass. Snipers just have to be dispatched by the mech escorts.

MW 4 there was a convoy that kept stopping every few moments for no real reason and made themselves easy targets.
it wasn't until a little later on did spector go "If you don't keep those tracks moving I'll shoot you myself"

I think over all many hate escort missions, that's why it seems they are slowly vanishing from games these days.
