1) Hawken is basically just an FPS with mech skins on things. Controlling a game as fast-paced as that (which is more akin to Quake than anything) with two joysticks seems beyond idiotic.
2) What's with all the switches in the middle? Looks cool, but are probably just decoration. I guarantee you there's nothing in Hawken that would warrant taking your hand off of one of the sticks and flipping switches in the middle. It's not DCS: A-10C, you're going to die a lot, so unless you have to reset all the switches every time you die, they probably do nothing.
3) The keyboard is a weaksauce rubber pad, which are notoriously impossible to use for typing with any speed or accuracy.
4) What's with the 'pilot name'? This tells me that this setup is a rare one-off production run for LAN machines or some sort of public appearance, not for consumers. Why would I want a glowing LED showing me my own name, constantly?

1) Razer quality. Their quality control is lacking at times
2) price. Razer charges a preimum for thier stuff
Ill wait and see. If people say that it holds up and is a good product without breaking the bank, ill buy one. Otherwise ill just get a throttle and stick somewhere else.

Please refer to Razor's general pricing scheme before insulting your fellow forum users' intelligence.
$250+ is being generous for something like this.
Paying more than $250 for a peripheral is not retarded? I'm sorry. Foolish... that is probably more accurate. And if you can't see why that is... well then... there is no hope for you. My condolences. Or maybe you are stonking rich... which makes the point moot. Consider donating more to charity while you enjoy your fancy joystick.

Otherwise, I'll just stick in to my Logitech attack 3 joysticks which I am going to calibrate so that I'll get pro way to smite people down.

it very well may be that the stick has twist, but it's not something you can tell just by looking, hence, it's not obviously represented, and none of the little feature blurbs mention it either, but then they don't make a specific statment as to the keypad containing a throttle control, it just seems obvious by the placment and design of that little tab on the right side of the pad.

I think I read somewhere that it's modular..if that's the case, I hope they offer the components separately.
I've also read people complaining about having the map down where you have to take your eyes off the screen. That map could possibly be the battle grid..and if so, just watch it end up being a touchscreen where you can just touch where you want airstrikes as a commander. I like the concept, as ridiculous and foolish as it might be to drop money on such an expensive peripheral for one game. I love Mechwarrior, so I'll probably do it if the game turns out to be as awesome as it's looking.

But if they would sell the screen separate that would be interesting. Also the screen would need a decent resolution, and be a touch screen that you can use for other things. Like control your music player etc while playing other games, or play with the teamspeak settings.
The concept is nice, but how its eventually going to be sold and with what functions is going to be deciding factor.

Not likely; the screen itself will probably jack the price up by at least a $100 on its own. At $150-180 it would be a good buy assuming it isn't junk, but I fear it may easily pass the $250 mark.
