In recent news, the 228th successfully defended the planet Amity against the Black Stone Knight aggressors. BSK initially landed in the southern polar region of Amity and promptly got their forces ready for a fight. The 228th walked in and fell victim to a surprise flanking maneuver done by the Black Stone Knights. Luckily the 228th was able to successfully hold them off long enough for reinforcements of both groups to show up. This time, however, the 228th was prepared and proceeded to decimate the BSK forces. Regardless of the outcome of the fight, The Black Stone Knights were able to send some of their heavier forces North to attempt to disable a geothermal energy plant. Their attempt, however, was thwarted due to the efforts of a hasty 228th dropship transporting the forces quickly to the plant ahead of the BSK forces. The lead that the 228th was able to get on BSK allowed them to this time set up their own trap. The 228th then quickly and efficiently dispatched the Black Stone Forces without losing a single 'mech. Some of the lighter forces of the battalion attempted to further escape North, but 228th forces pursued to eliminate them. The fight was won, but at the cost of the 'mechs of Private Ragnar and Major Deadfire, who used their 'mechs as fodder in order to corral the fleeing BSK company. The 228th won the fight, keeping control of Amity for the Stewart Commonwealth.

Marik Cival War Update:
In recent news, the 228th IBR successfully conquered New Olympia for the Stewart Commonwealth.

Right off the get go, the 228th attempted to assault a geothermal energy plant up in a volcanic region of the planet. However, resistance was met in the form of the 228th's old time rivals The Luna Wolves. The Luna's had seen this move coming and had set up an ambush near one of the production facilities. This allowed them time to successfully evacuate most of the important assets out of the area.

The 228's next plan of attack involved striking the local island transport hub as a an attempt at shutting down any energy production the planet had. The Luna Wolves attempted to hold the docks, but were overwhelmed by the 228th forces in a blitz attack leaving the Luna Wolves in quick retreat.

The 228th then moved to take out a small back up energy facility and were yet again met opposition by the relentless Luna Wolves. The engagement turned into an all-out brawl, with only a few members eventually standing on either side. The fight was won by Private Legendary of the 228th IBR when he gave the coordinates for a well-placed artillery strike.

Pushing farther into the enemy’s energy plants, the 228th yet again, clashed with the Luna's, driving most of their forces into the ground, but not before they were able to move their remaining resources out of the area.

The 228th seeing this scenario before, moved into the local port city. The 228th managed to claim the planet by forcing the evacuation of this major city with the successful set off of an EMP done by Captain Grim and Corporal Titan. As a result of the 228's success, the Stewart Commonwealth is now the proud new owner of New Olympia.

Proxis Update:

The 228th offically play as 2 different groups in Proxis. Our first Legion "The Courts of Hell" will continue to act in the shadows for the 228th as pirates during the proxis campaign. However Our second Legion "The Courts of Heaven" will be supporting the St. Ives Compact, who is in desperate need of defensive forces to maintain their sovereignty and political clout within the grand struggle of the Great Houses that has engulfed known space. To complete this task they will assume the identity of the venerable Blackwind Lancers, and will pledge support to the St. Ives Compact's defense as their primary military force.

The 228th IBR 370: ToP: 40 + T1: 60 + T2: 60 + T3: 65 + T4: 70 + T5: 75

A major up and comer in the competitive MWO scene, The 228th actually legitimately started the Trial of Position as a division 3 team, then got moved to second place division 2 after the ToP. With a list of victories as tall as a locust, these guys proved that they should be in division 1 for Season 3. They took first place overall, were a major contributor to their faction winning the war, played against every available higher division opponent, and had a number of later war crushing victories over the forces of BSK and LW. Keep an eye on these guys for all future competitive leagues.

Sorry missed this last part, this is the write up from the Marik Civil War's final results.

To the 228th IBR members.

We just wanted to wish you all a great winter break, happy holidays, and new year. We wanted to take this chance to thank you all for your hard work both in game and out. This unit has done amazing things in the half year that it has existed. While the leaders have done our fair share of work, in the end it is you all that have made it great.

In six months we have won every competition we have entered in and have found ourselves as giants even amongst giant battle scarred mechs we pilot. Things have been rough, both in our drops and in MWO itself. Stay strong, enjoy the game, and be ready for January because we now have a reputation to defend. Its time to show everyone that we aren’t going anywhere unless its to rank 1 in everything we do.

Thank you again all for your hard work, the time you have given this unit, and giving the leaders as well as your comrades the pride in being a member of the 228th IBR.

We also want to thank our friends and family for helping and supporting us in our endeavors and allowing us to spend way too much time with us online this year.

Through service we command,
Colonel Deadfire & Major Vercinix

Well Since I haven't bumped this in awhile. 228th is on course for the latest Marik Civil War Campaign, in addition to possibly others. Unfortunately Proxis has been canceled due to some issues with coding and such.

We will possibly be looking at Oceanic Timezone personal that wish to play with us, as we are mostly late night Pacific times, and a possible interest in that area.

228th has started on it's 1st Run Hot or Die season, mostly pushed because of the new rules presented for it!

In addition to training for it we also have Marik Civil War to look forward too!

Other recent news would be that the 228th is still doing it's best to support the MercStar Coalition, and that we are having many 12s with our allies everynight. If you want to get in on them just contact us via our website or our teamspeak (IP: ts52.gameservers.com:9315 Pass: metagame)
