So how do you run your JM6-A? I'm honestly not sure what to do with all the hardpoints, but I've been messing around in Mechlab and came up with this:

JM6-A

I'd rather also have some Medium Lasers in there, but I couldn't figure out how to do it without sacrificing some necessities like ammo or torso armor. I then realized it was not significantly different from the cataphract I'm already running:

CTF-4X

Just remove some missles and add MLs... Thoughts?

Well here's how I run my JM6-A: 1 Gauss 2 ML 4 SRM4
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...34cfa68aa7d37cd

It's pretty mean at a variety of ranges and fairly heat efficient.

If you want to run with cannons that big you either need to go asymmetrical with only one or downsize the engine to add MLs. In either case you are correct in that you are not creating anything that different from your CTF-4X except with a larger emphasis placed on the missiles. You may need to make some adjustments regardless as a single ton of SSRM ammo for 4 SSRM2 is a bit low - just 12.5 shots which will go by quickly.

JM6-A

I use this build to great effect, usually between 500-650 damage per game unless I make stupid mistakes. The Streaks can be replaced with SRM6s if you want something that can be effective vs ECM lights/

I'd recommend changing from AC/10s to U-AC/5s. With and XL engine, you're gonna want some range, and it frees up a lot of space.

I like this build the most, though I'll likely play around and get some more heat sinks in there. And it's different enough from my tri-UAC5 Ilya that it'll see some play.

I would run something like this, I think your original build is very close...

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7a8f96e3115810a

I know I know it will seems too slow at first glance, but within 600-700m this thing will pump out some damage and get stronger every meter closer. Its kinda the hunchback of the heavies. :D You shouldn't be running out in the open on Alpine anyway. Use cover and support your assault teammates. I guess if you run 4SSRM2 then I might want a TAG for the ECM lights. You will be running escort normally so getting >180m is not out of the question.

One of my favorite mechs.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9e2d5d3d1fedbd2

20 SRM's with Artemis.
2 LL.
82KPH with speedtweak.

Can take a beating with proper torso twisting.

That build does look fun. I need to try that. I have an A6 sitting in a warehouse covered in dust. This looks like a fun way to bring it out.

Thanks!

You can also drop some ammo, lose the artemis, down grade to medium lasers and throw on a couple ac2's.
I don't run it that way but I have a friend who does and it also works well.

Chuck the ballistics completely and go with missiles long and short, TAG assist, LPL to enhance close defense and a fast engine.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...5a63f490c22f6d2

Gives you a heavy support mech that can keep up with even the fast mediums.

Update on my build.
4 SRM4's with artemis allows for a STD255 engine.
70kph with speed tweak and half a ton more leg armor.

Been playing around with the LB10X since the patch and having quite a lot of fun with this build now:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...560ec086bc0d800

Easily legs lights/meds and with decent speed allows you to flank heavies/assaults cos close range barrages. The tighter spread on the LB means its fairly easy to get all the pellets to hit one part of the mech now.

Can also switch the SSRMs for SRM4s if you want the extra punch.
