I cannot emphasis this enough, the biggest gap for new players is team work. Not that new players lack team work, but the vanilla game situation really lacks the ability to help with team work. The vast majority of the people you will be playing against will be on communications and will be coordinating together.

Communications!

This is where you can help with coordination of your team. If you team is on communications and working together you will perform much better!

I would like to strongly encourage you to check out he community servers:

Each of these servers contain hundreds of pick up teams of four random people just meeting to coordinate together and have a good time. (You require the program teamspeak to for comms)

Server 1:
address: na1.mech-connectt.net
password: WordofBlake

Server 2:
address: voip01.n1585.hypernia.net:9992
password: mechwarrior

Server 3 (Thanks spokig):
Address - 109.228.29.191
Password - hg5!4dg#

Good luck! The first has a new player training section that can be helpful.

Other than that, plus one. Endorse. Greatest help to any new player is the ability to group up with someone that is willing to help.

And I would definitely like to nominate Koniving as one of the Mentors and great teacher for this game. If new to this game, follow Koniving and look up his videos. He has helped me a lot.

I had stopped playing because I was only abele to drop as a solo. Their was a snowball's chance in caustic valley that my dyslexic butt would be able to type to the people dropping with me. I got lucky with finding a post that lead me to the na1 Teamspeak server.

Server 1 is also known as the ComStar New Avalon Branch, and from what I've seen is actively growing as a community. In the works are community teamspeak events such as Chaos Drops or two 8-man teams sync dropping in a specific loadout (All Trial dragons, mediums only, lights only, any-'Mech drop, etc). Getting a large amount of players together is becoming easier and easier as the days go by, and it heavily benefits the community as a whole.

New players fit in well with this, since there are tons of channels with many different purposes on the server. There is a general chat, a "training grounds", multiple dropships for 4mans/8mans and a whole plethora of mercenary corporations/house and faction channels for players to choose from.

This is important because it centralizes the player-base, getting people together who are looking for the same thing.
