With launch coming up fast theres only (roughly) 10 x 2 weekly patches left to go...

Do you think that's 'a long way from here' right now?

Can anyone summarize the changes we are likely to see by then?

Balance wise--Missiles getting some damage buff. Only certain thing.

Money grabbing wise-- 5-6 new mechs, buttloads of useless cosmetics. Oh, and new consumables.

I think we should see what happens. The end.

I'm going to return to my napping grounds in K-town now.

What I want to see is CW 1st installment by 2nd patch, and new installments/fixes every other patch hence.

What I expect to see is:
patches 1-9: new consumables, new maps, new mechs, new modules, 12v12, and every weapon being waaay overbuffed followed by a nerf to oblivion.
patch 10: last minute CW phase 1 release which ends up being one of the most catastrophic releases you've seen for a game(and there have been some very bad releases out there).

Hopefully they'll give HSR to missiles soon. It's so fun to see missiles do 0 damage on impact.

Further weapon balances would be appreciated too

Sometimes it really feels like I'm one of the only guys that pays attention to the Announcements and Dev Corner areas.

EDIT: I apologize for the snark, it just gets a little frustrating around here at times. Here's what you want to know:

I often contemplate just shoving a link to The Oosik Irregular's news page and our news Twitter feed in every thread ever when people talk about things that have already been covered. However, I'm not sure if the mods will beat me with a rubber hose if I do. It's not like we're making any money off ads or selling anything but you never know.

In this instance though, screw it: http://theoosiks.com/news @Outreach_News

Seriously though, it's the only place I know of where as much info as possible gets aggregated into one easily searchable location. Half the reason we run that site is to compile everything we can about about what's happening in MWO's development since it's kind of a pain in the *** to find it all easily.

We're in a holding pattern right now. There are a few very big pieces that will be dropping like UI 2.0 which apparently is going to deliver mana from heaven all in one shot while Community Warfare will be rolling out in pieces. We've already seen one of those go out with the Lance Commander addition. Hell, there's even an engine update tentatively scheduled for next month.

There will be some very sweeping alterations to the game in the next few months, people will just need to show some patience while PGI implements them.

More like, drop this game and come back after a couple of months.

@OP
It's been my experience that the last 5 patches before launch is when everything gets fleshed out.
That gives us 5 meh patches before I start to get concerned

If everything is fleshed out before launch this may be the first game to get it right ever.
so my expectations are low.

Yep - this is exactly what I expect. The rate they add content and revisions to this game is nothing like what I would expect of an open beta ramping up to release, and the changes they have outlined seem pretty broad in comparison to the tiny tweaks that have been going on from month to month since September. If it has been over 7 months and they're still not done fixing HUD bugs, 6 months to make hit detection work reasonably well, I wonder how much time they should leave to deal with Mechlab 2.0, CW, Lobby, etc.
