thank you for stopping in niko snow !

i'm well acquainted with the nuances of what jihad means but it's good of you to make sure everyone else does. anyway i wasn't really talking about the poster jihad, in fact not at all, we were actually discussing jeff dunham, a comedian who is also a ventriloquist and is also a racist !

although, keeping in mind that context is key, one cannot examine things like the word "jihad" in a vacuum, one must examine them through the lens of an understanding of society. things like the word "crusade", when viewed with an understanding of just what the crusades were and what happened during them, are actually pretty inflammatory indeed, and it's actually pretty hard to find an instance of the use of the word which does not deliberately use for rhetorical purposes the connotations derived from its historical roots !

bearing in mind that current events are inextricably linked in the public consciousness with the word "jihad", one might be inclined to posit that the joking use of the term in combination with some kind of forums posting movement is at best a little insensitive but that's a topic for another time or is it ! !

This looks like a serious post. Serious posts aren't very fun or entertaining. You should try making fun or entertaining posts instead.

It's also a lot of words that no one's going to read

Come on mike no need to get sassy!

Social justice can be fun and entertaining for everyone you just need to have the right mindset! And to hate racists!

Everyone else agrees otherwise. :( Lets stay "off-topic" please...or "on-topic". Either way stop talking about racist puppets.

I'll agree that it can be entertaining but it's not very entertaining here

Well that's just like your opinion man. I think maybe you're pretty wrong about that and that this may in fact be the best possible place in terms of entertainment for these kinds of discussions!

Actually

I believe the

long winded discussion

consisting of many chest high walls of text

(i mean

seriously guys it's

starting to look like a

cover based shooter in here)

was in fact appropriately on- off-topic.

This is the grounds of

of a legitimate intellectual

ethical

and philosophical

grievance.

i appreciate the discussion and

it can in fact be enjoyable in it's own right

and sometimes you don't

choose the right time for a discussion

sometimes the discussion chooses the time

however when/if it becomes

argument for it's own sake

the points made risk losing

legitimacy under a wave of rhetoric.

I'm inclined to agree

but then

I also feel

we all need

more fraggles in our lives
