Would switching Engine double heatsinks to 1.4 and crit heatsinks to 2.0 help the boating situation? Currently switching to double heatsinks give u 10 free heatsinks with out any crit or wieght loss. Instead give them only 4 heatsinks and make them use crit space and wieght for their heat dissipation..

This might help dissipate laser-boating, but would not drastically affect any of the other problems you seem to want to fix. PPC boats rely on high pinpoint alphas, which is more affected by heat threshold than dissipation. Hexa-stalkers would not change at all, poptarts wouldn't change, all it would do is hurt laser-boats.

This only hurts lights and mediums, and buffs heavies and assaults. Which might be your point (not sure what "current" situation means, but is awful nonetheless.

I have to agree with hammerreborn, penalizing smaller mechs won't help reduce PPC boating. I have a Catapult that runs 22 DHS, this change would actually improve my heat efficiency, and that runs an all energy loadout already.

Not sure it would buff them. Do any mechs currently carry 20 DHS?
If they didn't buff the hell out of the heat cap, you could actually use 2.0 DHS without much issue.
