UPDATED!! show me some good builds for them!
i took yalls advice and got the 733C (w/enough mech xp to get speed tweak and pinpoint) and 732 (enough mech xp to get module slot) once i rank up 1 more of them, just earned enough cbills to buy my next one and bought a mech bay *sigh* Damned my OCD collect all 300 mentality.... i'll end up paying a pgi employee this week... everyone's gotta eat tho right?

SO? The 733? or 733P ? to laserboat or not to laserboat. can I keep that thing cool enough? seems nice to only have to have one ammo type ugh. ideas?

i guess, you could substitute normal Large Lasers for the ER-PPCs and add 2 Ultras...

Looks quite wicked...

I started with the 732 as well for my first Highlander, but i concider my 733C to be the end all and be all Brawlander. Its pretty much a DDC with jumpjets with better pinpoint fire controll with the Balistic arm. but i would say this no point taking out the jumpjets from a highlander since thats its main selling point (Even one JJ is enough for scaling most buildings), if you do might as well buy an atlas.

But for a third Highlander you have the choice of the Poptart 733P where if you put PPCs and LLs you won't get much in to the missile slots since you'll need all the additional slots for DHS. And the 733 has the issue of 4 missile slots which won't come in to thier own untill the LRM fix.

Well i have a Heavy Metal as my first. and love the weapon loadout (and capabilities of making money)-- so, after the 733c... i have to look out what to get for my 3rd.

I really like the 733C right now. The AC 20 is just a stone cold killer! I put a post up on how i cam to my build along with a VOD or two

lucky for you there are no "dud" variants in the highlander line, however if you go by the previous assault tournament results then the P version was the lowest performer.

that being said the 3 variants are very different so pick the one that works for you.

the 733 is obviously the missle boat, i run mine with 4 srm6's + gauss/2mlas and it can be pretty beastly. id imagine if missles ever get a buff then this would be a nasty brawler.

the 733C is clearly the balistic lovers choice, 2 slots and you can run whatever you want in there, ac20, dual uac5 or whatever.

733P is the only version with no ballistics but it gets arm mounted energy points wich is very good with lasers. think 4 large lasers some srms.

myself, i have the Heavy metal, 733, and 733C. i skipped the 732 as it seemed similar to HM, and the P didnt do anything for me.

The 733 and 733C are both brawlers right now (this may change if LRMs become viable again.)

733 SRM Brawler

733C AC/20 Brawler

The 733 runs cooler and is stronger in the close range brawl. The 733C runs a bit hotter and this negatively impacts their close range brawl, but it has more of a threat at the 350-400M mark. The 733 is also a bit ammo starved and you may want to swap out 1 ton of gauss for one more ton of SRM.

I would skip the 733P because it looks to be inferior to the 732 in every way.

Clan JadeWolf states useability of following mech :
Assault Mech; Model HGN - 733
Loadouts : [link redacted by Clan JadeWolf Watch]
"Sorry, Gentlemen, but Spheroids do not get access to internal Clan JadeWolf MechData. The Watch"
Hint granted in unClan-like sportsmanship : Gaussrifle and 2 Jumpjets

I love my 733C - 2 UAC5's (+macro to switch between doubleshot and non-jamming singleshot), 2 LL's, 3 ASRM4's, 325 engine and a single JJ. It's a beast, tons of fun to play, and can lay down tremendous focused DPS when required. No Mechlab for my current setup here though.

My second was the HGN-733P. It tough to cool, but what I found worked best for me was 2 ERPPC's in the arm, 2 LL's in the torso, and 20 DHS to cool it. Took me a while to settle on this build, as it's very, very easy to make a build that is simply too hot to be effective, but this worked very, very well for me.

Why BAP? Because I had spare tonnage, no enough slots to add more HS (and seriously, you need the 20), so BAP it was. Turns out it was a good decision, the 25% bonus to Target Info speeds is very, very useful to pinpoint-nail someone you just spot/lock on to in a vulnerable spot.

i tried my 2 UAC/5 instead of Ac20 Build.. dunno.. i went back to the Ac/20, the UAC5s enjoyed jamming at just the right moments, firing rate just felt too inconsistent.

The 733 makes a tremendous brawler - probably the best overall puncher in the HGN chassis... but the hardpoints also kind of steer you towards an XL engine. Not that this is bad per se -- but the one thing I've found in assault mechs with XL's is that you literally "cannot" give an opponent your back to shed damage. You just can't... One good pop to your side rear torsos and you're cooked. That said, the 733 with GR, 2MLs and 4SRM6's is about as gnarly and heat efficient an assault as I've ever used. It's extremely effective at dropping mass quantities of damage in short periods of time.

The 733P... would seem to be a great laser boat. But to be honest, I've had a lot of trouble getting mine "balanced" in that role between the heat and firepower you can carry. It does lend itself well to running standard engines though -- but 2PPCs, 2MLs and 3SRM6's is about as the best all-around loadout I've come up with on it. And I like the 733 loadout a lot more :)

The 732 though... Yikes. You can run an XL on that and fit a GR/3LL/2SRM6/SRM4 combo into that and it's incredibly well-rounded. Very similar to what a lot of players run on HM - but with the hardpoints in better places. And a little more punch.
