Talking to my son on the way to drop him off at school this morning, the discussion as often is the case, settled on MW:O...

Today's discussion centered around the community and the widely different expectations by individuals of MW:O and how they came about.

Obviously with me being his equivalent of Comstar, his expectations were well insulated and based in practical / logical reality. He, like me has always taken the "Let's wait and see what pans out" approach and it has served us well and has ultimately allowed us to enjoy MW:O for what it is without all the highs and lows of lofty expectations.

Having said that and recounting this discussion, I though a tongue-in-cheek poll would be interesting.... and with that... TA-DA!

Discuss freely amongst yourselves... and try the dip... it's to die for.

Denying history almost seems more cynical. Those who do not understand it, are doomed to repeat it. Notice in the past 6 months, just how specific PGI has been with their PR? Notice the lack of chanting "Say no to P2W" there has been in 2013? It's because PGI doesn't want to get caught lying again, because we all are watching for it now.

I've not played a game since they lied and declared there will be 3rd person. PGI is lead by idiots. This game will never be a mainstream game, and going 3rd person just chased off the people who would have supported it till its bitter end. I come now just to watch the drowning man drown.

Interesting quandary...

Ya see, in my addled mind a lie is "intent to mislead or deceive"... As I see it, PGI had every intent to follow through with that intent but apparently "something" changed their minds... Now I'm will to concede they seemed pretty adamant when they said no 3rd person but they didn't pinky swear so I'm maybe a little more flexible with holding them to their word.

As far as the "no-slip" policy PGI is demonstrating... Of course they are watching their Ps and Qs... The tin-foil brigade is wound tighter than a cuckoo clock and PGI can't even lift a cheek to fart without someone trying to read meaning into it...

Alright let me make this simple... ​A lie is intent to mislead or deceive. I'm pretty damn sure it was their intent to accommodate as much of your list as humanly possible. Seriously... All developers going into their pitch with extremely high expectations and grandiose plans. Guess what... They are lucky to either have the time or the long term funding to meet half of it. That's right... every triple-A title has left at least half their games on the cutting room floor. Why No public outcry your ask?... SImple. These games were worked on for several years, behind closed doors and these "lies" PGI is purportedly are guilty of, were nothing more than design decisions made by the team trying to produce the best game they could and get it gold before their publisher pulled the plug.

PGI and MW:O is no different.... except their dirty laundry is hanging out for everyone to see and every design decision they make will be scrutinized by the tin-foil hat brigade. They "changed their minds"... They did not set out to mislead you... they did not intend to deceive you... Things changes and they rolled with it.

Yet time and time again, there is always "someone" who is not stable enough to separate their emotions from reality long enough to understand this premise... Instead it's pubescent whales of indignation because PGI finds itself unable to meet these aspects and had to make concessions

THEY ARE LIARS AND CHEATS AND BABY KILLERS!!! (Okay... got carried away with the baby).

Can you not see how self serving, myopic and indulgent all this sounds? "Yes", things changed... "Yes" Not all of them globally popular... but changes I'm pretty sure PGI had to do, were informed to do and wished to do...

While I get folks are disappointed that everything is not turning out as originally anticipated... Folks need to find a way to get over themselves and stop taking this so flipping personally.
