After it was mentioned in another topic, I started a thread about this on the CBT forums that can be found here where I posted my Volley Gun idea and asked about other unique concepts.

You see, you got lots of good idea by the BT Crowd..
As far as I'm understanding, your suggestion is a "machine Gun" array like it could be found on WW 2s fighter air crafts?
4x7.7mm = light VL
3x12.5mm = medium VL
2x20mm = heavy VL
or similar right?
Alternative are the vehicular mounts of infantry support weapons or the metal storm idea looks cute too...

No, not a MG array, those get invented by Smoke Jaguar later. I am trying to avoid anything that already is in the rules.
The Volley Gun idea is from the page in the link.
Now I am thinking of something like a Gauss but using electricity to shoot the round instead of Magnetics. Would have different stats and if damaged, it would cause an electric feedback that in CBT would give you penalties next turn(s), in MWO it could have an effect like screwing up your HUD/radar for a certain time period.
