Are the Hit Boxes recording damage as the dev's would like them to be?

I ask because there have been several occasions where i have (and seen others as a spectater) dealt a high amount of damage to an already damaged mech and it still walk away after coring me....

River City
Dual Gauss Jaeger DD (no damage) vs Atlas (center torso was orange) health at 85%

3 Direct hits with both gauss weapons at the center torso as he was approaching me, if my math is right thats 30 damage per volley so in total that is 90 pts of damage to center torso, no other part of the atlas was glowing orange after each shot just the center torso.

I get alpha striked then hit with medium lasers and im dead, bearing in mind his center torso was already damaged.

If you ask me the Hit Boxes are broken or there is something else wrong but that atlas by all rights should have been dead...........

Not enough damage to core him and you removed none of his firepower in the process. Working as intended. Should have shot him in one of the side torsos. Destroying either one removes half his fire power and you would probably have taken him out since it doesn't sound like he had the sense to not stare you down.

so how much armor does an atlas have in its center torso on average given that a % is also distributed to rear armor?

And given that his center torso was also orange indicating that a fair amount of damage had already been taken, plus my 90 ontop of that!!

If i remember an atlas has 124 armor for front and rear center torso, so i would guess that the average player would put 30 / 40 armor on the back and 94 / 84 armor on the front, even with 20 on the back and 104 on the front i still think he should have gone down.

I do normally go for the side torso especially with dual equipped weapons but as his CT was already damaged kinda figured 2 volleys max and he would go down, still puzzling but if you say that 90 damage wasn't enough then i guess you must right.
But i still think its broke

I usually run with ~80 up front, which takes care of most of your damage, plus the internals of which you have to destroy all before the beast goes down. Unless the CT armor is actually gone, you are almost always better off taking out the side torsos first. He can't hurt you if he has no weapons.
