So in the old forums there was a "post your favorite paint jobs thread", here: http://mwomercs.com/...__fromsearch__1

But it's been archived, so we can't post there any more :)

As one that loves looking at what paint jobs people come up with, I figured it was time to start another. So without further ado - here's my newest Raven - 'cause premium colors were on sale after all.

Of all the different retina-burning paint jobs out there, I find yours the most disturbingly beautiful.

Ive seen some nice paint jobs. When I try to make one myself I find it incredibly frustrating that the interface is simply not user friendly plus the fact that some pieces of every mech cannot be colored. That just ruins the whole purpose of it all.

I make a nice camo and theres splotches of standard green messing it up...places where the camo paint does not paint.

The best paintjobs are often the most 'garish'.

I like the new Fractal scheme quite a lot. Best one they'll ever make imo.

I've always really liked the Mountain Line camo. Nice and bold, and allows for some good use of color that really stands out. I keep waiting for it to go on sale so I can grab it.

Couldn't disagree more. The paintjobs that really impress me are the ones that are subtle, but beautiful. The ones that make you do a double-take before you realize how well the colours match. The in-your-face neon green Phrankenstein bones on a deep purple background make mechs look like accessories to 1980's Skeletor action figures.

I also give credit to people who paint their mechs like they're actually part of a unit. For example, Multitallented's Raven above is quite beautiful, but I could never imagine a whole unit or regiment painted like that. It looks like something that you'd see in the Colosseum on Solaris. His Tiger cataphract, however - I could definitely imagine a regiment painted like that.

To each his own, of course.

I fell in love with my Atlas D-DC having the skyline pattern, obsidian black top, maroon middle, and crimson bottom. He looked like death that had been dipped in blood and left to dry.

I didn't buy the camo or paint - they have zero effect on game play and I feel they're vastly overpriced. For $15 I can buy 1-3 games on Steam when there's a sale instead.

I love MWO, and I was happy to invest $120 and happy to add $50 to that as needed to continue my premium time - but I'm not happy when the 'value' of an item is completely absent and the cost is excessive. Paint should be globally unlocked for the current cost. Mech-specific camo isn't bad, but it's pointless without unlocking the colors for the Mech.

Colors are unlocked globally.

Although in general I do agree the prices are too high. I am still using MC that came with my founder's package, and even then I only buy colors or patterns on sale.

Mechlab is sooo dark. Here are the ones that aren't too subtle to see in there.
