Nope, I enjoy playing Hawken..a few rounds sitting behind cover while snipers bounce above the hilltops reminds me why.

I am generally a Clan Hater in BattleTech (except for Nova Cats. I kinda dig those tripping dudes) but considering the fact that many people want a MadCat / Timberwolf and that in general players want the best tech in the game and not the worst - perhaps they should have started back on the Clan worlds with the warden and crusader factions battling over politics and just had everyone be a Clanner.

Would have sidestepped the whole coming Clan tech and IS tech issue we have looming.

What could work is changing heat capacity increases, introducing penalties while running hot, and putting PPCs heat and cycle times back to where they were months ago before their buff.

Penalties for running too hot would do wonders to balancing the game play in MW:O.
We can only hope that the Devs figure this out sooner rather than later.

There are no medics in this game.

I can already see the mobile-field-Tech consumable ... ;-)

The game would feel like hawken if it would be balanced, right now we are moving away more and more.

You've obviously never played Hawken. It's horrible, and nothing like this game.

I don't see the comparison at all. OP, have you actually played Hawken? This is akin to saying MS Flight Sim feels like Ace Combat.

Like anyone will let silly little things like "facts" or "reality" interfere with their narrative.

At least in Hawken I can use 1 Machine Gun and destroy a Mech. ;) So both games are kind of different, eh? See what I did there?

In hawken, you can kill a mech by shooting him repeatedly in the foot.

Has anyone? Is it any good? Is it in fact a twitchy shooter?

It is pretty twitchy, but the game play is also pretty solid. My issue with the game is it is pretty much arena style with the small maps. As a fast paced FPS game, it is far better than CoD, but that isn't really saying much unfortunately.

If you go into it expecting a fast paced, somewhat twitchy style game, you will not be terribly disappointed. Getting into new Mechs is a bit of a grind, fortunately your starting Mech is pretty balanced and quite capable.

I played for a about a month just to see what the fuss was about back when there were many MW:o vs Hawken threads.

I find it to be good at what it does. The in-game tutorial was a welcome sight.

My slow *** jager mechs beg to differ.

These two games definitely have different types of game play. Both fun for their own reasons.

Honestly no, I haven't played it. I've seen videos of it though. And it definitely looks more fast paced and twitchy than MWO. It looks like Like quake 3 arena (which I have played) with "mechs" that take a little longer to kill.

A recent youtube video of Hawken Gameplay:

Way too fluid for my taste. Why even claim you're in a mech? The hud effects are pretty cool however.

I wonder how high the OP was when he typed out this thread.

In no way is MWO like Hawken in my eyes. Barring the Mechas, its a completely different ball game.
