Give a nice fat C-bill and XP bonus for capping.

Find some way to hook up a water wheel to harness the tears of the assault pilots.

Everybody wins!

Seriously going back and forth between my lights and my Stalker is like night and day.

In fact, just going up in weight class is just...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

That's quite a transition from talking about a reward for capping (especially in conquest).

This much is true. I've been seeing lights do lower damage and get lower money and XP than ever before. Mostly because lights do three things well and all have issues right now:
  • Capping - not really rewarded
  • Scouting - with no LRMs, not really rewarded
  • Flanking - less effective than ever before

For C-bill grinding I can just rely on my Stalker and resign myself to trudging around the mech hiking simulator maps that keep popping up...

But that still leaves me with an agonizing XP grind for the lights.

Yup. Leveling up my first light chassis (Jenner) I keep eyeing my GXP.

I started this game in a light and I've stayed in lights or mediums ever since.

Needless to say, the game has been very insistant that I stop doing that if I want to have fun.

^ If you want speed, and to be a useless pariah, go with the non-MC Dragons.

If you want to be a thundering (albeit SLOW) god of destruction, pick a stalker.
