For realism, trees should have an effect on these things, if you charge through a line of trees, your mech should be affected in that it loses speed, plus the graphical effect of the trees being knocked down and no longer an obstacle. The same with weapons fire. Weapons should have an effect on the terrain. Blowing up trees to clear your path or line of site, or actually a skilled player using them to block(some) enemy weapons fire,. I did not see these things portrayed in videos.
Without having terrain and trees affecting weaponsfire or speed, it lessens the skill factor. Plus it will allow players to fire from behind tree cover, and not be seen, without the trees having any effect on their fire. Thewy would be shooting through the physical trees, and it not affecting their shots or timing of shot in anyway. This would seem unrealistic to me, and I could see this become a pet peeve of mine in gameplay.
Also, what about enviroment? Fog? Rain? Different planatary enviroments like volcanic terrains affecting heat and speeds, deserts, cold climates, snow affecting speeds and heat dissapation? Are these things taken into account in the developement of the game or is it just about mechs shooting mechs without situational awareness or the possibility of taking account of terrain and climates in your mech/weapons choices?
Honestly, without more variables like these added to the game to enhance the level of skilled play I would lose interest in this game not long after I started playing.
