Just A Crazy Thought

PGI likes to runs these tournaments and I am sure for those in them that they are loads of fun. I have seen lots of 'non-team friendly' play, where team mates run in front of you 'just to get that kill' or shoot you from behind for that same reason. But hey, its a solo tourney and thats the way it goes.
What I would think would be interesting, would be if they had a secret (non announced) daily tourney once a week or so. No OPT IN required. Just play as you normally play and let PGI tally the scores (per weight class) and announce the winners the day after it ends. That way, you dont know when you are in a tournament, there would be little to no sync dropping 'helpers' (not saying this goes on, but I am not saying it doesnt).
There play would be more like the day to day style (hopefully) OR you would see the tournament style of play from more folks.
I just think having a non announced tournament that you did not have to opt in for would be pretty interesting.

I can already see the threads. "But I planned on doing experimental builds today, PGI is awful!" or "I was grinding spiders! PGI sux!"

All the team has to do is allow one person to shoot up one or two disabled or DC'ed mech and that person scores 1200 damage a match. There is play footage all over the net showing this occurring.

And I did think about that, not Spiders per se', but really, right now, isnt that what the game is about? Buy a chassis, grind it out, change 102 times, continue to grind those xp?
lol, any way, just a crazy thought from a crazy old man.

THIS ^ is exactly why I said, secret or unannounced tourney. The Pilot would not know they were in the tournament UNTIL THE DAY AFTER IT IS OVER.

He is copying and pasting 2 or 3 posts he feels are worthy into just about every thread that they pertain to. He keeps using the word irregardless in one of them and it is making my grammar brain hate life.

Yes, but the 2 of you also refute his statements often as well. SO you have opinions on this, as does he. Yay. Now we all have one!
I have not seen any videos showing this (but I havent looked for them either). That does not mean it isnt happening, I have SEEN it happen, but hey, if a player has to dip that low to win what? a silly dash ornament (roughly 4$ US or less) and about 1/2 a day's worth of CBills, then I truly feel sorry for them.
I like the idea that PGI puts on tournaments. This one is the 1st one I joined, a day late, but I still joined. I also know I have no chance of winning, I am not that good. I also know I have had fun playing in it so far and that is what it is supposed to be about, fun.
I hope to see more. My idea is far fetched, but I think the tournament would be different if you didnt know you were in one. Some? maybe not. Most - probably so. Thats my opinion.

Folks would either play like hell to win and kill everything OR they would play like normal and continue to grind for those XP. winning something along the way and not knowing you were part of it would be a nice bonus for day to day play.

Interesting, how would I subscribe to your newsletter? I would like to hear more of your thoughts about this and other issues, such as the govt conspiracy behind 9/11, how Stonehenge is a radio to talk to aliens and about the impending apocalypse.

The word irregardless most likely means the opposite of what you are intending it to mean. It is a nonsense word, almost, as it is most likely a portmanteau of irrespective and regardless smooshed together.
WORD BREAKDOWN:
Ir - regard - less : Let us start with the root of the word "regard". In regards to; regarding. It means pertaining to, concerned with, etc...
The suffix -less means "without". The word regardless (the one you should be using) should mean "without regards to"
The prefix ir- means "not". The word irregardless would then become the opposite of the word regardless.
Most dictionaries list this word as incorrect, though it is formally constructed. Most people do not realize they are using this double negative. Everyone just assumes it means regardless. It does not. The word regardless means that.
TL;DR - if you are typing the word "irregardless", use the word regardless instead.
