its more than just ballistic weapons. on friday night, i hit a stationary jenner in the ct with x5 erppc, x3 gauss, and salvo of srm8(x2 srm4) from 100m, and it just ran away without even exposing intenals. light mechs should not be able to take that kind of damage.

Because there are no eu servers and the ping is ****. Btw there are more europeans playing the game.

Yep. Happens most often when targeting fast-moving 'mechs at close-medium range.


There's been a few matches where I would unload over 50 points of damage directly into a light mech's assend, only to find out that it only yellowed their armor a little bit.

Kinda frustrating...but luckily it doesn't happen all the time (for me, anyway).

I play with a ping at around 200 after the last patch, and all of my ballistic hits seem to register just fine (provided I manage to, you know, aim). Some friends in the US seem to have issues, though, even though their ping is minimal. Could it be yet another function of the Internet connection stability/quality?

It is not only ballistics, it's lasers as well.
For example 3 of us dropped together in a game and after it was already won we joked around a little and I fired 4 large pulse into the cockpit of Curccu.
Usually that should take him out :(.. but it did not. He also confirmed that he took only damage to the cockpit from this shot.

yes this bug is infuriating imo a game breaker. shooting some body and they recieve no damage is a bigger issue than people realise. think of it from a new player perspective, they come to try out a game, so most likely they will not traul through the forums they will just strt to play. so their in the first match and having fun, that is until they are about to kill a mech but the shot doesnt register, then they are killed themselves by said mech. if this happens a few times who is going to stick around for long? i know its a bug and it will get fixed but man o man it really infuriates me when i know i have a hit and nothing registers.

Hi, thought I'd throw my comment in on this.

Hit damage failure has been around for quite a while it seems in this game. For as long as I've been testing it, there has been periodic shots/missiles/lasers that have failed to do the intended damage. This -seems- most common when a volley of multiple weapons that are the same type are used ie. 4xERPPC or 6xSRM6. When fired en-masse some (or all on occasion) of the shots within the volley fail to register.

As yet, I have not been able to determine an exact trigger for the error myself. If you have a browse through historic posts you will see this has cropped up in almost every patch.

I haven't recorded the occurence (mainly due to the game not allowing capture for some reason at the early stages and now cause I really can't be arsed shouting about this bug over and over again) but if you can spot an occurence in a live match and record it, I'm sure it will add significant weight to our posts regarding it.

Very annoying bug. Really exasperating to pile multiple ppc into someones back at same time as team mate puts a guass and ppc there as well...barely dents the armour

Is it my fail noob?
Is it my lag?
Is it hacks?
is it a bug?

For now I say its a hit bug

E.G. -Shot a Treb this morning with 6 volleys of 3x ERPPC's. He keep standing still, thats when I would shoot. I would see my PPC's pass thru him and hit behind him. A few seconds later he would start moving again. He was only 250m away.

This isn't the first time I've had something like this happen, but one of the best examples to date. On the flip side, anyone every get shot thru cover by ballistics??

Yeah, I was fighting against an Awesome a couple of matches ago and my LBX AC-10 as well as my ER PPC's weren't registering damage into the back of the thing. Seriously in just a few recycles of my weapons, he should have been dead, instead I burned through 8 AC rounds and took a crap ton of PPC damage in the process.

I've seen PPC rounds impact a mech with no damage, all within the weapon's effective range. It's kind of annoying to see when piloting an ERPPC spider.

Managed to record a video of said occurrence. Kinda sux when only 3 out of 6 or 7 shots actually register. and I have had worse than this.

All Gauss shots in the video did hit and caused glow damage effect on the mech, but only 3 of them did any damage. Checked this frame by frame.

i beleive it should be a known issue by now..it happens with ppcs and ballistics and i ve seen it happening a couple of times with srms

not only ballistics, PPCs too. you hit him and he get no dmg. Is the Lagshield back?

Got a new one with the Gauss rifle. The hit reg on the BJ was really bad while the YLW was pretty decent.
