I'm not sure how many people are even aware of it, but when MWO crashes, it creates a crashdump file that can be used to help figure out what just happened. Often, when you actually take the time to create a ticket, support will ask you for that file.

So, here's my question / suggestion:

Why can this not be a part of the launcher?

When the launcher starts, it looks for a crashdump, if it finds one, a box pops up and asks for details about what happened, and then it automatically uploads the crashdump and creates a ticket. Fast, simple, effective.

If this file is truly valuable, would it not make complete sense to collect them as often as possible, like, every single time even? Red 5 definitely did / does this with Firefall, another "beta, free to play" title.

It would also give PGI a better idea about how many crashes MWO actually has, because they would be getting a report on every single one.

This seems like kind of a no brainer, win/win scenario to me . . . maybe?

Sounds good to me. Plus, it would save everyone time with having to email back and forth with the support team. Cause usually the user emails support saying they crashed, then the support team says give us the crash dump, then the user asks where is it, then support has to tell them where it is and then finally the user sends them the file. It's a long unnecessary exchange of emails.
