Opening up mech lab is like stepping into a world of options, most of which belong at the bottom of the trash heap. We have all loaded out a mech with a dumb selection of weapons and gear at some point just to see if it would all fit, even if we never clicked 'save'.
Sometimes though, thats odd assortment actually seems to work in a few matches, maybe even getting a few kills and besting your fellow team mates on the damage charts.
If you have any odd builds that were decent, especially if they are nowhere near the meta game combinations at the time (builds that shined due to certain patches or imbalances), post them, share a tale and laugh with your fellow mechwarriors at the foolishness of it all.
Or laugh at them, that works really well too.

So far my favorite oddity is the Marauder build with a Flame dragon. despite a 15 ton difference in the chassis, you can get the same loadout as a 3R if you use an XL engine, which isnt as big a deal in the dragon as it is in most other mechs. What keeps the build from shining is upgrading to ER PPCs cripples heat disapation (i already used chain fire for the standard PPCs), so you are basicly left with your mediums and your AC if anyone wants to get fresh with you.
