If I had to deal with this every day after work I'd not quit smoking but living.

Ha! You must not have any kids. Two year old and triplet 11 month olds. My day starts at 6:00A and finishes at 9:00P every day. Feeding, work, playtime, feeding, playtime, dishes (gotta have 12 clean bottles every day), laundry, cleaning. Then I get time to myself to play MWO.

And it's totally worth it! Also the best reason in the world not to smoke anymore.

Definitely have a handful. Just wait till the teenage years. They change over night. My daughter was so sweet. She would come and help you whenever you asked and even when you didn't ask. The next thing you know her head spins and she talks a different language. Pure selfishness and we have never taught her to be selfish. I always taught her think before you speak or make a decision just so you know the consequences. Now it the whole easier to ask for forgiveness crap.

Oh and the boys. I love them so much. They hear my voice and they say yessir. One of them called me a rather bad name once. I literally threw him out. Of course it was my fault lol. Daddy you were so,hard on him. Daughter of mine those were the first words he said to me after I glanced at him once lol. Just venting people.

My advice when I was 12 years old: Never start this habit.
Wish I had listened more to 12 year old me, that kid was smart.

Any thoughts on quitting Niko?

How I stopped smoking...

I stole a pack of cigarettes from my father when I was 7 years old. Put a few hundred meters of distance between me and my home, together with some friends (one provided a lighter). Had my first taste of a cigarette and thought it tasted awefull.

Never touched them again! One cigarette was enough to drive me away from them and never ever, ever, ever, ever touch them again.

Somehow I can't bring myself to smoke unless I'm thoroughly drunk. Then I wake up the next day with a mouth tasting like bong water and can't even remember if I liked smoking or not. I think the only time I didn't regret smoking the previous night was when I managed to projectile vomit so much the taste was washed out of my mouth by morning...

Congrats on quitting!

I've taken an informal poll over the last few decades asking why people started smoking in the first place.

I have yet to hear a good reason. Most were social pressures or stupidity.

The closest I ever heard to a "good reason" was "My parents smoked and I got addicted to the smell" (gross)

Cheers.

I quit drinking liquor in 1979 after, well, nevermind. Only recently did I start enjoying single malts - you don't chug those.

I still enjoy beer, I just stopped drinking the hard stuff.

Oh, and I quit eating cows and other herbivores in 1992. Carnivore critters are still very yummy and are much easier to digest.

And just for the record, bong water tastes worse than it smells. Even with the worm....

i'm trying... it's tough, I've cut way back and can't do the patches or gums, they actually make me crave nicotine more and cold turkey is a recipe for disaster. just doing the tapering off method, and successfully.

congratulations to you and keep at it! you're not ever out of the woods with a strong addiction. that 12step program I think mentions "You have to accept that you will forever be an addict, the question is, are you a user?"

The cycle of life continues. We however have opted for the live life fast and hard and never look back. I'd quit smoking but then I'd have to replace it with another vice, like gardening with ladies of the evening in double-stacked grave plots. So nicotine stains on the nails or dirt and blood stains under them.

- "...what do you mean you won't bolt the joystick in the damn mech? How am i supposed to control this behemoth.."
-"... a mouse? wtf do you mean mouse?.. why do you think i got the bloody cat?"
-"...KEYBOARD?! are you insane? Do you have any idea what the cockpit cat will do to the Keyboard? ... What i get for taking my mech to walmart for service."

Never choose the wrong tool for the job, then it's not a job it's just hell.
