*ahem* 99% OF THE FORUM'S POSTS BELONG TO 1% OF THE MEMBERS.

But seriously, a lot of people have active discussions going on that are relevant to the topic on hand and are trying to bring about new ideas, discuss strategies, debate various aspects that may or may not come into play and why they are good or bad.

Ten years of pent up demand; it's not surprising.

Could we see a 5post limit per-day might make people think before spamming out the boards?

Uh ... no, yech.

Maybe just keep everyone under, say, 10-50 posts in a "spam" forum before being allowed into the "main" forums.

Given we are so far away from the game, the forum is all there is so limiting it seems counter-productive

So far away? Some of us have been waiting for more than five years for a new game like this, so the fact that it is coming NEXT summer feels like it is right around the corner. And, again, I have a LOT to say. Some of these knuckle brains need to be told what's up...

I need another cup of coffee...this is too much.

As for limiting discussion, there's moderators (TBA) and a Report function. That really is enough policing.

When on the forum I tend to comment on any thread that I feel I can add to - given the number of active threads that can easily add up, even without multiple posts if a good discussion get's going. 5 is ridiculous.

This post has absolutely no relevance to the topic at hand, but it's my 100th post and I figured it needs to go on the thread ******** about post limits. If anybody is butthurt by this for some reason, here's a picture of a kitten to make you feel better.

If that didn't make you feel all warm and fluffy inside, I have no respect for you as a person.

A better way to do what you want is to include a "vote down" button in addition to the "like this" button.

I am a grumpy bastige, and I generally dislike most fellas posts, for good reason. That said, a dislike button is WAYY too much. I would run up my limit every day. Hehe.

I like the dislike option, but make it anonymous or else you would get a whiny PM every time you downvoted. The reasons against the un-like button are abuse, burying of unpopular ideas regardless of merit or substance and the general dickery of the internet population. That and with an un-like button we might as well just be reddit, the MW and CBT boards there need some love. I still wish I had one though...

I don't want to see a limit to how many posts can be made, but I'm very open to the idea of getting rid of post counts. I do get the impression from some people that post count = l33t status. I remember 10k being a big deal over at Mektek.

I have an average of 9.75 posts per day per my profile, and I'm sorry, but I don't post senseless stuff. I try to keep every response as constructive and sensible as I can.

If you can't handle the flow, then go somewhere else, it won't change... in fact it may only get worse as more people are drawn to the game.

How will the gameboard fanboys be able to talk about how bad Mech assault was and roleplay let alone complain about non realistic simulation seeing that we cant compare the simulator to real life so how do we know its a simulator.

This is one of the most hilariously mis-guided straw arguments I have ever seen.

Any kind of BattleTech sim game would be a simulation for the tabletop rules, which we have everything and the kitchen sink (almost literally) for rules.

So do we get credit for days we don't post 5 posts per day?
I must have stopped posting for a week so I should have more than 35 available posts today.
