Everyone who placed on the tournament leaderboards should get to lead the clan invasion. For 48 hours, groups of 5 up against 12 or something crazy. Everyone else in IS stuff, with 12 guys, the Clan guys dropping in the releasing clan mechs and weapons and stuff.

It would actually make the Clan invasion feel like... well, the Clan invasion.

Some of the best pilots in the game? With some of the best new equipment available? In some of the best new mechs available?

Can you imagine the tears? I know I can. They would taste delicious, like the nectar of the gods.

Anyways I think for everyone whos ever done well in any tournament up until the actual invasion, they should be allowed to opt in to a 2 day period of basically 'early' entry into the Clan stuff, just for the invasion part or whatever constrictions are there, and just run roughshod over every IS noob in inferior mechs with puny weapons.

sounds great if you can also guaranty that those 5 will abide by the Clan Zellbringen and fight honorable combat, 1v1 until they are engaged by multiple targets, turning down a challenge would be a disgrace, no use of contractions (can't, shouldn't etc) and if someone were to initiate the bidding process then it would be followed and whatever was bid away would have to not be used. Also there would have to be battles between the claners to see who would be the Star Colonel, The Star Captain, Star Commander, and Star Point (Warrior)

Also, should the Clan side lose the battle then they all must become Bondsmen of the IS pilots who defeated them in battle.

Like I said it sounds great but there is no way in heck that you or any of the other "Leaders" would even consider playing like true clanners so the idea, although grand, will never fly

Wouldn't even consider it? I'd give up everything to fight honorably - that's what fighting honorably is about.

For Heavens sake please PGI, give the elite super-warriors something to just shut up! Leaderboards to show how much better they are have already shown up on the after match screen. But they also want to rub it in again and again and again. I understand the contempt for us non-winners and the need for ego boosting so I have a suggestion. Just put a gold star on their mechs and we can all see how great they are - in game. They can openly compare how many gold stars they can display in game and even put them on their sigs in the forums. For those of you who have fingers poised with flamers, look up the word 'satire' in the dictionary.

I agree with this idea wholeheartedly, but you have to remember that not all Clanners are created equal (and not everyone will want to pilot an omnimech all the time- or at all!).

As such, I propose a modification to the OPs plan:

(The middle tiers would need to be fleshed out in detail, ofc)

All tech tier:
Overlord Legendary Founders

Second line, non-omni clan mechs: veteran founders and whatever the lowest Project Phoenix tier is called.

I knew even before Project Phoenix (and doubly so now) that there will be Clan Founders' packs- they may even name the top level pack a "Bloodname" pack or somesuch.

Or "IlKhan" .

Then a few months later everyone else will get access to Clan tech.
