I recently read the ATD37 answers and found a rather surprising answer:
BlueSanta: When are you going to investigate the claims of an SSRM Bug currently in-game, where Streaks are almost always damaging the CT through either direct or splash damage, a problem that is especially affecting light mechs?
A: This actually does not happen, not every missile hits the CT every time. It’s random where each missile hits. Sometimes it may seem like you are being cored directly, however it is most likely due to splash damage. We are tuning this right now to minimize the SSRMs coring potential.
I'm sorry, but this is observably untrue. The splash damage you are referring to is splashing from CT to the other sections, not the other way around. This is most obvious when being struck by streaks from behind, which causes them to pass through your CTR and strike the CT. This is not true on many larger chassis, including mediums. Streaks definitely work correctly on them, but not on lights. If the damage was being dealt directly, the CTR would decay faster than the CT. (Not at all the case)
I feel that you do really good work and that this will be fixed and balanced, but in the mean time, this answer really miffs me. I know you guys have no ill intent in the least, but you can't expect this response to fly. I understand that it takes about a month to get such fixes into the pipe and implement them, so this isn't simply impatience. I know that this is a beta. :3
Please more carefully review these issues before you provide an incorrect response on such a raw topic. Your Light pilots are already pretty upset about the current (very unbalanced) Light gameplay, and this does not help the situation.
Thanks in advance, keep up the good work.
