Dragon pointers

1. put max armor to the arms (40) and torsos, reduce leg armor to 34-36, you may reduce cockpit armor by 2 to get an even tonnage
2. equip 350-ish XL. the high rating will help you torso twist better when being shot by lasers
3. even against snipers, 350 XL with quick ignition and brakes will get you behind cover even before they aim.
4. if you're being focus fired, change position asap
5. keep a distance of 500-700 meters if you're doing an autocannon build.
if the assaults come close, continue shooting if you're not noticed. once noticed, pull out.
if lights come close, use your lasers, your 2 x streaks, and more importantly, learn to shoot lights with autocannons and gauss. the 350 XL do wonders in aiming ability, use it well.
6. when shooting, if you plan on using ACs, go to the right side of some cover and learn to shoot with 1/3 or 1/2 of your body behind cover, only the right arm exposed. torso twist so that a quick accelerate or reverse would hide your body. vice versa for the laser arm, the left side of a cover. (a horizontal poptart)
7. look at the map more often. the dragon's position is key. it's okay to flank or attack from behind if you are far enough. if you are being chased, run in a zigzag pattern and torso twist to hell.
8. learn to shoot while moving at full speed when changing position. it is okay to miss on ac/2 as ammo are expendable.

here's the recommended loadout.

DRG-5N (sidewinder): 3 x Ac/2 , 2ML : 350 XL, main weapon ac/2s
DRG-1C (copperhead) : gauss 40ammo, 2 ERLL : 315XL only sniper [80% hit rate with gauss]
DRG-1N (pit viper, semi-brawler): 2 x Ac/2 , ERLL, 2 x 2streaks : 350 XL

300-450 average game. 600 on a good game. 700+ on a great game.

some notes:
ac/2 battery is dangerous to ignore. it would feel like being tickled but it has high DPS.
fast shot speed is great vs light and mediums and you're most likely not be noticed using ACs.

Please avoid a laser build. the dragon runs hot as is. the problem with lasers is that it gives away your position in contrast to ACs.

i hope you do well in your dragon.

I'll also put in that if nothing else, I find it very fun when you are playing conquest in a speedy Dragon and can run around capping. You'll run into a light that figures you for a light as well and is surprised when it actually sees you and takes a couple large lasers to the face.
