What is this? EVE online? No, but seriously, I would be willing to make the trip, even with all expenses to be covered by myself. But I doubt that they will.accept us longtime fans with open arms. They aren't FASA, and they never will be.

So count me in. But I'm telling you, they won't meet us with open doors.

If i had the money i would go just to film them plastering the door in our faces or see a bunch of trained security apes blocking us and "asking" us to leave the premisses, just to laugh my *** off with the video and get on the plane and visit my good friend and long time compadre living in Longueil in the very welcoming Quebéc, thus the trip wouldnt be a COMPLETE loss of time.

If you're going gentlemen i wish you the best, but have a plan B and see the sights.

LOL I think they would be so scared they would call the Canadian Mounties and have them meet you all at the airport then escort you back on the plane to go back home. As you can see even the forums scared the hell out of PGI so bad they had the General Discussion removed. :) Being scared of your own fans is just childish behavior on PGI'S part. P.S and they wont listen to you if you even made it to the front door.

As funny as it is, they removed the general Discussion a day after a thread named: "Delete General Discussion" appeared in the Suggestions forum. So, you know... it's the fault of General Discussion whiners they never did anything constructive and thuis never knew about the thread where they could protest against it.

If the search wasn't as bad as it, sadly, is, then I would've provided a link right now, but you'll have to wait.

LOL, good idea but why travel there? just do a video conference with:
  • All developers/creators of community driven leagues and tournaments
  • Developers of 3rd party tools like mwo lobby or mechlab
  • a randomly selection of lets say 20 people, who have applied for participation
on PGI/IGP side have:
  • 2 or 3 technical guys, who really know about the server and graphics as well as databases behind MWO
  • 2 designers / creative directors
  • 1 publisher representative

do actually 3 conferences with those guys:
  • first one to introduce everyone to each other and to find a list of topics to cover ( lets say 10 topics that are burning the hottest)
  • discuss those topics after a week or so, when everyone hat time to prepare something to show clearly what each party expects and why
  • conclude each topic with either compromise or denial by PGI/IGP but with reasons given to the community representatives

because things are best done....in person.

and if we can help them to better the community experience, why wouldnt we offer our assistance?

its their choice to accept or reject it.

Point is, if you do such things in person, mainly US players will be there.. therefore it will come out with more boom, explosions, fancy graphics... and lesser depth, as it at least seems like the american gaming community is currently focused more on sound and video than on actual game depth.

also, apart from my own prejudiced, it would be simply unfair to leave half the audience out of the process because of simply distance and travel costs.
In the end, we live in the internet age and not in the 19th century anymore.

As for the first part, I hope I don't have to remind you on how many accounts is that statement untrue.

On the second part, yeah, it sucks for us Europeans, but convincing them to make a video-conferrence would certainly be possible, altough very, very unlikely. You can try to organise it and you'll be on the same boat as our American colleagues.
