Though, it is what it is...maybe Mauler/Zeus/King Crab/Banshee next time...I honestly would have preferred anything that didn't very heavily overlap with what we already have.
Sure, some say "AC40 Assault!!!!" though there were many other mechs that wouldn't have taken a role occupied by an existing mech in game that could have done that. Essentially, now we get a lighter/faster highlander, poptart capable, mech that fills a role we already had filled.
Some may not agree, surely fans of the Victor will say something...but ask yourself...what does an Awesome now offer that this mech does not?? Nothing. Which begs the question, if this mech was coming...why do the Awesome at all?

Here is the list of Assault 'Mechs, and here is the Master Unit List (to check availability and canonicity).
To work in the current MWO paradigm, the 'Mech generally must:
- have at least three canon variants at or before 3050 (as one must master three variants in order to unlock the Elite efficiencies in MWO's XP system)
- have some or all of those variants in production
- not include a perma-LosTech system (e.g. NullSig and CLPS) or equipment that is not implemented or known to be planned to be implemented (e.g. single-package EW Equipment, Arrow IV launchers, etc) for at least three timeline-appropriate variants
- not be exclusive to a single in-universe group (e.g. ComStar or Wolf's Dragoons)

I'm glad I read that, my info came from here:

and here:

But this was shortly after the trailer came out, and it seems harmony gold has a habit of creating racket everytime a new game comes out. I look forward to seeing the Warhammer, Warhammer IIC in the future.

Alternatively, in Marvel Comics and the StarCraft 2 HOTS beta.

Orion (still)
Victor
Flea
and we're getting the Quickdraw...?!?!
I am hoping we see Mauler or Zeus. Fafnir would be cool, but I don't think it's around in this timeline yet, or if it is, it likely doesn't have 3 variants.
Still holding out for Timberwolf and Mad Dog though...
