In the last ATD Bryan Ekman said that Catapult hitbox "is similar to other Mechs".
That's simply not true.

I've sent support ticked with a question whether is it a bug or "working as intended" and got reply that

Your feedback and suggestions are appreciated! However to better reach the developers with your ideas and suggestions, please post here:http://mwomercs.com/forums/forum/35-polling-suggestions/

Please be aware that even though the devs do read the forums and especially the suggestions one, they rarely reply to any thread so they can concentrate on actually building the game. Also, the community representatives read all forum posts and compile then send to the devs the most relevant and constructive feedback on a weekly basis.
As one can imagine, if the devs start responding to everything, it would become a never-ending back and forth, and game development itself would suffer because of this.

which answers nothing. And I don't think I can make it into suggestion, so I post it here.

Thanks for posting that, I've recently been piloting catapults and I've never been headshot more even before the awesome head was fixed. In love with guasscat though just need to get used to firing while running top speed and never stop, turn after every shot till your ready to blast again.

All in all I think the placement of the cockpit may be it's biggest downfall and similar front facing cockpit mechs like the Timberwolf and Direwolf will end up experiencing the same.

I would say that they are definitely much, much easier to headshot. I don't say that from the perspective of a Catapult pilot since I haven't run one regularly in months. Rather, I say that because I kill a whole lot of Cats with headshots. It's definitely disproportionate to the headshots on other mechs.

I run Catapult a lot, so I'm used to it. And I say that every other mech should have its head hitbox bigger.

I kind of agree with this. We complain that the Head of the Cat is too big because we get headshot a couple times a night, but when I pilot other mechs I NEVER get headshot. I am kind of thinking that other mech's head hitboxes should be enlarged a bit. Heck, I hardly ever get head shot in a Raven, and it's head is pretty exposed. Same thing with the Huch as well.

lol the moment you realize the catapults cockpit is its entire center torso and the atlas's cockpit is its miniscule left eye

Well, it's not entire CT, but it is as big as the whole canopy, which is like 30% of its front CT profile.

So I was in my Cicada last night and I saw this Cat trying to cap while lobbing LRMs at someone in the distance.

I tooled up behind him, blew off one "ear", and was working on the other when he finally noticed something was wrong.

I took the time to type out "CATS HAVE GIANT HEADS" while he was turning around, then fed three large lasers into his face.

True story.

Just today i killed two catapults in a row with headshots not because im awesome but because they are easy as hell to hit.

Lost count of how often my K2 got its head blown off by a pair of PPC's.

I cant head shot any other mech that easily, its too big and an unfair weakness for fans of the cat.

Dear PGI,

Please either change the catapults torso twist radius back to what it was or reduce the size of the head hitbox.

Too bad you probably won't do that because it would be an entirely sensible thing to do and, sadly, sensible things are something that seem foreign to you.

Cata's head hitbox is still small enough that the only way you will ever hit it is through luck or shutdown.

Also not sure why people complain about the cata's head when the jenner's is at least as bad, if not worse, but I rarely hear complaints about that.

Seriously? Try lasers, it's actually ridiculously easy.

I love the Catapult, and the K2 is likely still the mech I prefer above all others until I see how the Blackjack handles. I kind of got used to the head hit-box being so huge a long time ago. It does tend to force you into the role intended for the mech of medium range support, and it helps balance the cheese factor of Splatcats and Streakcats coming in close range with a high risk/high reward factor. At least it wasn't as horrible as the Jagermech's head hit-box when it first game out, that was legendary for it's aweful design the first week when it was released, combined with the ultra powerful LRMs, I was headshot under a minute into every round if someone got a lock on my Jagermech. Now, with all this said, the Catapult mech does still have a large head hitbox, but it's also an easy visible target on the design of the mech, the cockpit isn't protected and it projecting out in front moreso than most mechs. I love the Catapult variants, especially the K2, and I'm fine with it remaining the same or getting a minor hit-box tweak to help it out.
