Hey everyone, I had trouble with this error and screwed around a bit because I really wanted to play this game - and I found the (ridiculously simple) solution.


I want to share it because I know that I´m not the only one with that error:

1. Run the MechWarriorOnlineInstaller.exe and go through the installation routine, check the box for creating a desktop shortcut because you will need it. Proceed until you get the error message.

2. IMPORTANT! Dont click away the error message. Just move the window aside and leave it there.

3. Click the MechWarriorOnline shortcut on your desktop.

4. Let the patcher download the game and install it, if the patcher says "Play it" after completing the installation you can click away the 0x80070643 error message window.

5. After clicking away the error message your desktop shortcut (and the one in the game directory) will get deleted, leaving you unable to start the game again because you need a few more files.

6. Now run the MechWarriorOnlineInstaller.exe again, choose the same game directory as before, and again dont click away the error message.

7. Go to the game directory, you need to copy two files in a seperate folder, you need following files:

MechWarriorOnline.exe
MWOPatcher.exe

8. Click away the error message, the two files will get deleted again. Now just replace them with the copys you just made.
