for a hero mech the YEN-LO-WANG can seem a little lackluster. the only thing the mech has going for it is that one AC 20. so why not really make it the star of that mech and give us a "hero tree" progression that would allow us to unlock some YEN-LO-WANG specific upgrades.

• bonus armor on the left "shield arm"
  
• better movement speed so we can flank heavies to greater effect
  
• decreased AC 20 recycle time
  
• more ammo/ton for the AC 20
  
• dare i say you give the YEN-LO-WANG bonus ballistics damage

i feel like this would add some much needed flavor to the mech and it would justify the price.

any thoughts or additional suggestions?

Do it for yen lo you have to do it for all. Then hero mechs would have a definite advantage. Not really going to fly.

Even if it is for the most famous mech in the IS.

All hero mechs should reflect the character, personality, skills and faults of the pilot. There is plenty of rich Lore, mythos, Dogma... that is being neglected by not representing it in the game with actual game abilities. I think these things will make their way into the game when the foundations of the game are strong and sure, after all the game is still in the live open BETA testing phase.
