I don't know what will bring the "brawl" back to MWO, but until something does I'm out.

Sneak around to the enemy base. Preferably when your side is hiding behind rocks and the other is giggling and getting their easy kills with PPC spam.
When you set off a cap alert on their base, it'll make them very upset. Sometimes a few will actually break their sniper formation and go chase you. In many cases that'll give a momentary tactical advantage to your side. Some might even find some courage and stop hiding and shoot back.
You'll be screamed at by the other team in all-chat as if you were in World of Warcraft and you fell into the whelp groups and caused a wipe, but it's so worth it.
I have to admit this is a sound suggestion on how to beat the Meta of PPC sniping. I figure get on TS3 and drop with 7 other players willing to mass attack any pop tart or PPC boat they see!

Capping is boring. It's how I won my last match in a 54kph Jagermech because nobody would brawl me so I just walked to the point and won.
MWO is at an all time low.

and I keep winning with that light (like I do in my heavies) by capping... and capping and ZZzzzzzzzz
I don't play lights because I like to fight. I don't snipe because I like to fight. I don't win because I don't like FoTM.
I play for fun, but my version of fun isn't what the game is focused on right now so I'm letting PGI know.

So the players suck because they are falling back on bad gaming styles? It is no the game that sucks. It is the players who are trying to break it. Nobody seems to complain about 2-3 PPCs unless they are on a Jump capable Mech... Why is that I wonder?

The only game where I didn't get picked apart by snipers.

If you want to brawl, it can be made to happen. Yes, even on Alpine. It may take a little more effort and time to circle wide around the sniper line and come in on their flank or rear, but it's a lot more productive and rewarding than standing behind a rock/ridge/building with your own snipers whining about it.

Every so often I go an extra day without bothering, and if nothing changes in the next few weeks I guess I'll eventually just forget to log in at all.
Then, on a cleanup spree months later, I'll probably come across the install folder and kick the game into gear. Leave it patching for an hour or so in the background, and see what's happening.
I wonder if anyone will still be playing?

Glory to the other lance, who fell on the front lines, providing the tactical distraction.

I'm enjoying MWO so much more by avoiding Assault. Which is essentially blob on blob sniper warfare.
