With lots of huge trees (think redwood) that negate lrms, negate sniping, I wanna go around a tree and not know if I'm running into thin air or 500 tons of brawlage in my griddle.

Enthusiastically agreed. The art direction is this game is top-notch, but the levels suffer from a good bit of Gears of War-esque drabness. Colors are very muted, and dominated by browns and grays. I get that this is part of the mood of the game, but I think the mood is more effective when it has something to contrast with.
Take Mass Effect, for example. The "beautiful desolation" of the uncharted worlds wouldn't have had the same impact without the hustle and bustle of the Citadel, Ilium, etc.
Heck, it could even have that contrast within a single map. Something like a crumbling facility that's gradually being overtaken by verdant plant life, symbolizing the transience of all mankind makes something something all empires fall blah blah clan invasion.
Edit: bonus points if the artists get to go a bit nuts and make really alien looking plant life, like the asperagus trees in the Complex multiplayer map in Halo 4.

With lil birds chirpin and howler monkies singin and snakes crawlin around and stuff, would be sweet.

Funny you bring this up... I was just thinking of a map / scenario like this yesterday!
You are absolutely correct in that this would largely mitigate the LRMs and Snipers and effectively force them into brawling scenarios.
In my mind I'm picturing the Endor forest in Star Wars....

As much as I would also like the community to be able to request maps, they already have a set of maps laid out for the near future; they're building up a 'core' set of maps, which will contain all the 'base' objects which they could then use for other maps. I think the next one is an asteroid, but don't quote me on that -- I'm not sure.

Canyons next and we certainly welcome it with open arms into the variety, but it doesn't change the fact that there are lots and lots of maps they could come up with and one that at least dampens sniping would be fresh in the given meta.
