So when can we have more than 4 players in a group? At the moment playing with 5-7 players is annoying because we all have to hit play game at the same time to get in the same game but there's usually no guarantee that will work.

Its because 5-7 in a comms coordinated group against PUGs is what we call a STOMP. Its not fun, its not a challenge, and that's why it was taken out a long time ago.

Thanks for the reply.

Couldn't the developers just put people who were in teams of 5-7 against other people doing the same thing and have equal amount of players playing by themselves to match it up?

Seems like they could just work out a match making formula for it.

So yeah, you probably shouldn't be sync-dropping to try to get on the same team. It's cheating.

We told them over and over that the most important part of matchmaking was matching the premade teams against each other. They kept pushing Elo as the wonder cure when what you just mentioned would have been simpler and would have worked.

It very rarely works. Most of the time players get scattered into other games or the other teams.

This trend of games only supporting 4 players for multiplayer is really bad. Especially when you have 8 players on the same team in this game and no support is offered for people that want to play with more than 4 people.

with the vast amount of premades out there now, its not really pure pugging anymore. i think bringing the premade limit up wouldnt be so bad.

My guess in the respect of 4 man groups is the basis of the Mechwarrior unit designations.

4 mechs = Lance
8 mechs = 2 lances? not sure if there was an official name... can't recall.
12 mechs = Company

Would agree on the reasoning not to mix pre-mades with PUGs, it's not fun.

This in addition to elo and weight matching might make things a lot more balanced and enjoyable for all players. Even if they had to match larger premades with multiple smaller ones with pugs filling any empty spots would be better then straight premade VS pug matches,

Logic would dictate, that they could or should put an option in to designate whether you want to drop in a lonewolf queue or a group capable queue. That way, those who only want to lonewolf, only go up against other lonewolf drops. That could also be used for tournament events, where you could only use the lonewolf or grouped queue depending on the type of tournament.

Could possibly go a long way to stop the sync drop LW stomp abuse we have now. And it would allow the premade/pick up groups on TS to not have to worry about LW stomp issues. Plus it could allow mid range group sizes, and just have the LW's that want to drop in the grouped queue to fill in the left over slots.
