With everybody saying the Stalker was going to go from 6PPCs to 5 PPCs + gauss with the Misery I've come to the conclusion that the only rational way to explain how the Misery is loading 5 PPCs + a gauss is that it's the world's first 95 ton stalker.

Seeing as one of the E hard points is located in the CT... I guess it's probably going to be 4x PPC + Gauss + something (LL or MPL seems most likely).
But if you are willing to run an XL engine and have a heat management comparable to an active volcano, you could easily pack a 4x PPC + Gauss + LPL (same weight as PPC)...

Maybe Misery is also the world's first 'Mech to feature 13 slots in the CT. :)

Or about 95% of the people mindlessly screaming P2W really need to be wearing a helmet 24/7. They simply can't afford for any more synapses to fail from any further head trauma.

Best play I have seen so far(dont own one yet, no more MC from me till the hud bug is gone) is Misery with an AC20 and then some longer range stuff, usually it's been lasers.
Laser arms for shooting over hills, AC20 for big hurt brawl.
Saw one with an AC10 that did pretty well too. I havent actually seen the multi-ppc gauss misery yet.

They just have their tinfoil hats on too tight. Ever since the coolant debacle (which pgi learnt from ;) ) every mc announcement that wasn't cosmetic since has had people making threads about it being unfair in some form (in misery's case based on just a screenshot ).

I don't mind cautious debate on it, but ill informed rage posts is all they end up being...... :)

Edit: this about sums it up, thank you Tim!!

I've only played two games so far but have been loving my Misery. I'm going for more of a balanced loadout with a focus on more close range stuff. AC/20, 3x MLas, 2x PPC (not the ER variety). I'm able to rock a STD 300 engine, plenty of heatsinks to keep the heat down, near maximum armor, and 21 rounds of AC/20 ammo. Both games I had about 450 damage in the thing and never overheated. Definitely a better build over packing maximum alpha-strike

Is the Misery actually heavier than a standard Stalker? or was that a joke

No, the Misery is 85 tons. OP was just joking because people are thinking that the standard misery build is 5x PPC and a gauss, which is an impossible build due to the sheer weight (50 tons) unless you completely strip the armor. Not to mention the fifth energy slot is CT and so only a 2-slotter (PPC uses 3 slots).

Even a 4x PPC + Gauss is a dang heavy build. Little armor left over and your engine is essentially a hamster running around somewhere in the mech. The pilots who have been going for a more balanced build (such as mine with a whopping 31 tons of weaponry) have been usually doing much better in matches over the alpha strikers.

A: You can, if you follow the above instructions (XL engine, close to minimum amount of heatsinks)
B: It was supposed to point out that you are technically able to pack that much stuff into a 90t chassi, just that it will be a sub-par setup

Granted, the word "easily" might have been slightly out of place, but let's not be nitpicky, eh? ;)

fixed that for you. It's easier to correct people with correct info. :)

Since we're on this topic, here's what I'd put to make something similar that's actually possibly viable.
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...cab6c2d9ce14eed

12 DHS, 4ERPPCs, 1LL, 1 Gauss(x4T ammo) XL260, and reduced armor. I'd never actually use something like that, but whatever, we're just speculating, right?
