How about a new game mode where the goal is to destroy every single enemy combatant. To keep it interesting, Orbital sweeps will reveal the positions of EVERY mech to every other mech for 10 seconds every minute. That should minimize the people who run off in a corner and shut down when they are losing, but still leave enough unmonitored time for stealthy movements to be rewarded.

What's to prevent a fast and manuverable enemy mech, like a Spider, from evading an enemy team consisting of slow heavier mechs almost indefinitely? Especially if there was only one assault mech left to chase the Spider down.

This whole issue is easily resolved by changing assault to one single node in the middle of a map, IMO.
