PM me if you need a mentor. I will remove this message if the offer ends.

•I am not playing with with voice tools, if you are not either, I may be a good match.
•I play on a low end computer, so I know tricks for that. (missiles are your best friend)
•I am Pacific Standard Time PST but sometimes I stay up late so we will just have to see. I don't mind being a supplementary mentor while yours is away or vice versa.

<--To PM click on my profile picture to get to my page and you will see "send a message".

Happy hunting newbies, and Have Fun!

Hey guys,

'Nother newb coming to you for guidance. Been playing the game the past two days or so, but I don't have tons of time due to my job (Merchant Marine). I get about two weeks off and then a month at sea.

Anyway, been playing MW games since MW3 (anyone remember the ridiculous builds in that game? Slap on a whole plethora of small lasers and wreck someone's day in brawling?)

Right now I'm running a Catapult with 2 x ER PPCs and 2 x Medium Lasers. Its been quite a long time since I've had to play an FPS with a torso twist and such. Still getting the hang of lining up shots and firing accurately on the move.

I have TeamSpeak, that I use for another game's squad, so if anyone wants to offer help I'm down to learn. Might be looking for a group eventually, although I'd like to actually become a contributing member of my team before asking to join any squads/groups/factions.

Thanks for your time!

P.S. Just shoot me a PM, or if someone shows any interest, I'll shoot you one.

You can go to the Heartland USA mailorder catalog/website and get a mike set up for nine bucks. Not concert quality but better than silence.

Sorry I should have explained more. Its not that I cant afford one, its just that you would hear all the conversations in the room and I know how annoying that can be to listen to for everyone else.
Well if I can half listen to the squad then it shouldn't be so bad. Maybe that is my problem, not playing with full concentration. :)

"No, really, Cicada MG and AC20 build! 64kph of rolling death in a head-on attack! Of course it will work! They'd never expect it!"

I saw your version of the build. I was disappointed. Less than max armor? Only 64? Came up with this. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...f382d671589e4eb Though later I'll show you my real rig.

What times are you on? Also which stalker, and don't mention the loadout (it'll feed others intel on how to kill you. I always keep my builds a little less than exact at least on armor to hide weaknesses.)

Well. Too late; thought the name was familiar and saw the thread. Though good news is it can escort my Misery, pair up with my Stalker 5S, or I can escort it with the HM I use to kill 6 PPC stalkers.

Remember to quote or I'll probably not see your response within any near future.

I'd love some help. I've been signed up since the early closed beta days, but stepped away after getting raged/flamed by self proclaimed experts who seemed to spend more time shooting their team than the enemy, so if anyone is willing to help me out, I'd be grateful.

*Adopts.* I'll call him Tech.

Remember the things I do to lower my ELO? Doesn't seem to be working anymore.

I'll be on tomorrow around 2 PM Eastern. Got some assignments to do before then (never wait to go to college; it sucks when you're older).

Spoiler

Just wanted to post up that so far the help i have been receiving from posting in this thread has been great. I'm learning not to be just a detriment to my team.

closer to 11am pacific depending on wiether Daylight Savings Time is being observered or not ( goes Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific )

also forgot to mention that I currently have this build:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6a5b00c35016727

I am aware that it probably isn't the best thing for a tiny 'Mech like mine.

Why would you put armor in the left arm when it doesn't do anything?

This may be the blind leading the blind but if you drop the armor on th left arm (As it's vestigial to the extreme) You could upgrade the rest of the armor.

I'd be more than happy to help out anyone who wants it. I certainly don't claim to be the best player in the world. Cause I know I've had my share of embarrassing matches.

I'll pretty much pilot anything under the sun. Currently working on my Highlanders, but I have a Raven-3L, a YWL that I don't use much anymore, Flame, DRG-5N, and of course the founders mechs. And usually play weekday evenings (EST) and on and off on the weekends.

Hit me up anytime.

skill level doesn't matter, I'm just trying to build a friendly program to get new players introduced to as many people as possible and learn the game. As a bonus they make friends along the way and hopefully stay with us through the summer to launch. I want to build the community spirit and I hope everybody "pay's it forward"

I really appreciate all the input from new guys and vets so far, I have a lot of interest already, so let's keep it up!

Hi there everyone,
i'm a rather new pilot, but have some field experience already and pretty much found my role in the group effort.

Mostly will become a scout/harasser type with either light or medium hulls.

I saved up my C-bills before taking any decisive choice on the exact hull to take (so many, i don't know which one to begin with o.O)

I'm looking for a mentor and friend to play in teamwork (sick of solo'ing, yay for teamwork!) during EST timezone evenings and nights, mostly. (I live in Québec, Canada, speak french and english, TS3 available but crappy mic )

Will be keeping an eye on for volunteers willing to give me a hand for the first mech :D

That'll teach me. Now I want to build the damn thing.

I built one with a gauss - it doesn't live very long, but man - you pop someone in the head a couple times, they take notice of you. Of course, you only have ten shots or so, sooooo....

I'll gladly take someone new under my wing. I'm not the greatest mech pilot out there, but I'm real patient and I'm playing the game because it's fun and not because I want to score giant points or anything.

I mostly pilot Stalkers these days, but also have a Cicada and a Spider in my stable. Would love to have a Medium or Light wingman/woman - I'd even let you take the kill! :D
