I think elo should be unique per chassis owned per player or per weight class
I think this would go along way to solving weight and game balance issues
I am a pretty bloody good medium and heavy pilot , I am OK at assault
But when I play light mechs I am garbage
I am very much a detriment to my team , I manage to harass a bit but generally fail at a scouts other duties
And the reason I am such a detriment to my team is not my lack of light mech skill
But my higher elo from my medium and heavy skills and having that elo score count for the selection of opponents

According to the devs each weightclass has its own ELO.
Light/Medium/Heavy/Assault

It's been suggested before, and totally ignored.
PGI doesn't know balance until everyone ragequits.

As far as we have been told, your higher Elo score for mediums and heavies doesn't affect the Elo rating of your lights.

It hasn't been ignored. It IS per weight class.
