My TAG equipped Raven doesn't get to play much with dedicated LRM boats. Today it got to. We killed a lot of mechs together. Assaults and Heavies. And a curiously slow Dragon... Most of them didn't try to get into cover. Maybe they didn't know?

We probably did so well because of the mandatory focus fire involved. Actually the whole LRM boat/spotter dynamic is nothing but focus fire made mandatory.

As much as people go on about how good PPC boats and poptarts are and how underpowered LRM's are...

I sure do miss the rain.

It can still work even with the current LRMs. Honestly, though, I find that I don't need a spotter / tagger in my LRM boat as much as I need a brawler nearby. In a PUG, LRMs are either going to lay waste to enemies, or just have some noob team QQing about how you are bad for using weapons that aren't PPCs. In an organized match, they are quite effective.

people are going to start hating big time when LRMs/SRMs go back to the damage they should be. BAP will mean the return of the streak cat.
