The Solaris Arena.
I'm sure Mechwarrior veterans know about this.
I would like to suggest a new type of gameplay (map named like the topic title)
which is a **FREE-FOR-ALL** type of game
of course weight balancing should be included (Light mechs only,
Assauly mechs only, etc.)
A new type of flavor which is faithful to the canon.
I'm sure some of us players would love this

The Solaris Arena

I like this idea, but I would wait until CW comes out or something.
You know, a arena, lance vs lance, lights vs lights.
Epic.

Why would we need to wait for CW? It is just a suggestion for a different game mode while we wait.

The Devs indicated in the PC Gamer article from last October that Solaris would be the testing ground for advanced melee, new control schemes, and some other things.
More recently, Solaris was indicated to be at least 12-18 months out from Ask the Devs 32 (which was published last February).

Incredibly, Piranha is also exploring integrating melee combat into MWO. It may, however, appear in an isolated context: a standalone planet called Solaris, famous in BattleTech canon as a venue for gladiatorial 'Mech combat.
"We're super keen on Solaris as a future expansion to the game, where we introduce a whole set of new maps, new content, and different styles of BattleMechs, but also new control features and ways the player interacts with the enemy. That's where we would look to introduce advanced melee, beyond just running into each other and maybe the occasional swat," Ekman says.

Alvor: Map of the universe which can be traveled by players to various missions & Solaris?
A: PVE is not currently in the queue, and may never reach the light of day. Solaris is possible, but not for at least 12-18 months. An interstellar map is coming with Community Warfare.
